A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

RIP Coolio.

(August 1, 1963 – September 28, 2022)

While at a friend's house on September 28, 2022, Coolio was discovered unresponsive on a bathroom floor.
First responders pronounced him dead on their arrival.
Police have opened an investigation into his death, though foul play is not suspected.
Coolio's manager stated he appeared to have suffered a cardiac arrest.

He married Josefa Salinas in 1996, and they divorced in 2000.

Coolio had six children.

Thanks for the Paquito link, Trouble.
Had lunch with him at the Cuban restaurant across from where Roseland used to be (can’t remember the name). Not that I knew who he was then about 20 years ago, being a pure rock head. He was taking to lunch on of his childhood sax/clarinet heroes Al Gallodoro, who was the grandfather of one of my best friends and who also had become a friend to me. Paquito was very reverential about him and told great stories of playing his records in Cuba while growing up and how much he admired Al’s triple-tongue technique. Gallodoro died pretty much in obscurity to the larger jazz world, though he played with the Paul Whiteman orchestra and other luminaries, appearing in Hollywood films also.
Paquito and his wife were very sweet to us, my girlfriend from Katowice at the time and I, as we sat there taking in these giants of their instruments glowing in each other’s presence.

This stuff is a combination of coffee, chaga, and lion’s mane. Plus a bunch of bells and whistles.
My husband subscribed to this stuff a while ago and I was resistant but it is a good alternative for me because i like it without sugar.

On the YouTubes you can watch episodes of New Zealand show Country Calendar -- a decades-enduring TV staple there. Saw episode with a Brazilian who moved to NZ to work with sheep SOOOO enthusiastically. Works hard at sheep "station," and pursuing an ag degree. SOOOO excited! Loves sheep! Loves the hard stock and tech work! Also does her own web features about it all, and has family to fit time for. Someone, with a wonderful smiling laughing energy finding THE thing she should be doing, like some musicians. And...she learned fluent English extraordinarily fast.
