Hello Gary and Bodega Shoppers!
  7:02pm
Jill B.:

Yes I am. It will have dried cranberries soaked in orange juice, pecans, Italian sausage, celery and onion, along with home made bread cubes (just cubes of while wheat bread dried out in the oven). Oh, and homemade poultry seasoning. Yum, I hope! Also fresh cranberry/orange relish, and the good old-fashioned cooked cranberry relish.

I don't even remember this typing an exclamation mark that way. Perhaps that is why my typing teacher told me to get out of her class or she would flunk me. I went on to take Home Nursing instead. Sigh

Gotta say I don't exactly get why the WFMU Twitter link is no longer on the home page. I assume because a very rich eccentric recently acquired the company. But why does that make a difference?

Yeah, everything is adjacent to everything else.

/sorry gary...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10pm
Gary:

Haha
  8:12pm
Dean:

Not at all. The reference was historical. (I'm not saying you're a has been.) It identified you among the important contributors to poetry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15pm
Gary:

Hey Kids, here's a question: What do you want in terms of a DJ premium from the Bodega in 2023? You want Arabic 45s? Brazilian hip hop? It's gonna be our first all-vinyl premium so I want it to be speshul
  8:16pm
Jill B.:

Still here Gary. All day before T Day prep done and am now sitting here enjoying your show while sipping on some good Zin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:17pm
Gary:

Oh, good, so you're all ready to go for tomorrow
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:20pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

I vote for Arabic 45s!
  8:21pm
Dean:

Definitely not Brazil. I like approx. 1% of Brazillian music. I'm not sure why vinyl demands special programming.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22pm
Gary:

Well, it's a limiting factor, certainly, since I don't have a lot of vinyl relative to CDs
Avatar 8:22pm
TDK60:

I do recall Italians were participants in early Hardcore.
  8:22pm
Dean:

I see. The premium itself won't be vinyl, but the sources will.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:23pm
Gary:

Yes, exactly
Avatar 8:23pm
pot8o:

arabic 45s would be interesting
  8:24pm

I say, the earlier the better. Early 20th century recordings. First couple decades.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25pm

Avatar 8:26pm
TDK60:

DJ Gary, are those the two choices? If so, I vote for Arabic 45s. I hear much Brazilian on this station already. Love it./ Rev, Drummer corridor is vast.
Avatar 8:27pm
pot8o:

or maybe a mix of all sorts of stuff
  8:27pm
Dean:

To me Braziian music=Villa Lobos. Done.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:27pm
Gary:

Let's put it this way, TDK: If I do go with vinyl as source, then probably yes Arabic or Brazil hip hop, it's what I've got critical mass of, mebbe
Avatar 🇰🇷 Swag For Life Member 8:28pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@Dean : May I apologize if I got snarky in Irwin's chat ? I'd like to think I'm better than that - but apparently not always.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Hello, RevRabbit! How are things in the UV?
  8:30pm
Dean:

But nothing from 1900-1920 or so? That's why we go for vinyl.

RRN63: Thank you, but I honestly don't recall that you made a comment for which you should apologize. Even so, I'm chill.
Avatar 🇰🇷 Swag For Life Member 8:33pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...@ the risk of what Harry Shearer calls an 'Ifpology' ...let's make that definite.
Thank You Dean.
Hullo Wendy ! ...Most of what I know about the UV is limited to my own trap ...which this moment is about Bodega Pop & a Godzilla Watch Party with the sound off...
  8:34pm
Dean:

Shearer is a connoisseur of apologies, that's for sure.
Avatar 🇰🇷 Swag For Life Member 8:35pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:39pm
Gary:

Ironybread, you are sending me down Nostalgia Lane what with the Tubes reference!
Avatar 🇰🇷 Swag For Life Member 8:41pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@Wendy: Ah yes. Neat-o place. Would be a wonderful venue for Bands if he were more interested in that. Alas.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

@RevRabbit: Doesn't he have bands there every weekend?
Avatar 🇰🇷 Swag For Life Member 8:53pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@Wendy: ...He has some - & various events of different kinds - as you can see :
www.facebook.com...
- but not quite bands weekly.
To be fair - I haven't taken advantage the smallest %age as often as I should be doing. It would be a perfect space for local acts, I think - which is completely lacking for all the proud civic self-image here ...yerknow. I may be speaking really about my own self-interest above all... Yerknow - having Rawk shows is after all a pain in the backside - not necessarily the fault of Venues - but because that's how Society wants it...
  8:59pm
Dean:

I saw The Tubes at CSU Fullerton around '77 or '78. So-called festival seating. A bunch of dicks smashed the windows at the venue as we entered. Once that was settled, the show was fine.
