Here is Mayakovsky:
VLADIMIR MAYAKOVSKY (1893-1930)
Mayakovsky
from “I”
1.
On pavement stones
Of my trampled soul
Steps of madmen
Plait soles of harsh words.
Where the cities
Are hung
And in a cloud noose
Stilled
Crooked turrets
Of towers
I walk
alone sobbing
that on the crossroads
are crucified the tsar's cops.
1913

Problem with zero population growth movements has been - yerknow - always *those* people who should not reproduce - not us. Eugenics & fascists - the worst. So ...not discussed so much.

He also has some songs in his native Thai, which have slightly less camp value. Slightly.

Lyle:
The Primitives went on after us. Coventry being their hometown, they went over quite well. We could hear the fans cheering wildly as we sat dejected in our tiny dressing room. Timex Social Club were no fans of Wallace and tried to have us booted off the tour, but contractually we were safe and they could do nothing to have us removed, and so we soldiered on, getting boo’ed off every stage we graced, but believing in our hearts we were making art, and that art was not always understood.
Soon enough, The Primitives were tired of us too, and demanded that we be thrown off the bill. This lead to an unsavory confrontation on the midway of a small carnival in Burford where Tracy Tracy of The Primitives slapped Wallace and caused him to fall in the mud. Many onlookers pointed and laughed, something that continues to haunt Wallace to this day. Many feel it was this incident that caused him to cancel our participation in the tour and give up music altogether.
Fortunately, Eugene Chadbourne asked me to join his hendectet as a piccolo trombonist. As I recall, we did a short tour of South Korea before he grew tired of piccolo trombone sound and asked me to fly home. Despite my protestations and promises to switch to my Gemeinhardt standard trombone it was not enough. Dejected, I caught a midnight flight back to Atlanta from Pousan. The longest flight if my life. 30 hours. No peanuts, no coke. Just an old, angry steward with halitosis. A musician’s life is tough. Back in Atlanta, I hooked up with Wet Willy for a short tour of Natchez Trace watering holes. I never encountered The Primitives or Timex Social Club again, nor do I hope to.

Alexi Murdoch (prob Scottish?) had albums out 20 years ago, not sure when this is from. I remember his "Orange Sky" from a "hit" commercial 16 years ago, the only track in my iTunes from him. This is quite good, I'll explore his other albums.
