A combination of collage, new experimental records and other bits and bobs, Mid-Valley Mutations is a tour through the mind of Austin Rich, who has been broadcasting in some form since 1998. Heavily influenced by Dr Demento, Don Joyce and old fashioned College Radio, Austin creates Audio Essays on a variety of subjects, and even just plays records, from time to time. Sometimes Live music and Interviews will grace the program, helping create a situation where you don't really know what you're going to hear, when you tune in. What you need to know is when you enter the Mid-Valley region, be prepared for the Musical Mutations... in whatever form they take.

This was a very awkward live show, as the venue double-booked a comedy show AFTER an experimental show, but didn't tell either show. So all the comedians started zinging us as we were doing our shows.

I mostly wanted to play this because JUICE MACHINE loaned their PA for this performance, and they have had a very bad week, as one of them passed this last weekend. I'll be assembling a tribute to JUICE MACHINE for the week after the Marathon.

There's an 8-Eyed Spy version of this song, but I like the original better. (Nothing against Lydia Lunch. Nancy is just hard to top.)

I just discovered this album; I am a big Jon Spencer fan, saw him a few times in the 90's, always loved his shows. But him and Quasi, making an album together? Oh my! It's incredible! I just found the album the other day, but I've been playing it TOO MUCH!
