Avatar 3:22pm

I think I have heard a number of roller skating/skateboarding songs on this show. I wonder if there is a jumbo list out there of skating songs.
  3:22pm

Noah was asking where you were.

Mr. Oxford, if that exists I gotta see it

↳ Kittimu @3:21
You probably can . ( I don't know how). Seems like something you could do with a phone and headphones. I used to ride a skateboard in the 70s that was barely bigger than my foot. I remember listening to my little hand held radio and the corded ear piece that came with it while riding.
  3:25pm
Cheree July:

Mr. Oxford😆😄
  3:26pm
Kittimu:

Yeah I've got wireless headphones so I probably could. I'm worried they'd fall out of my ears though.
Avatar 3:26pm
Mr. Oxford:

↳ Song: "Does Your Mother Know?" by "ABBA"
I noticed the album cover first and thought the song was actually called "Does Your Mother Know Kisses of Fire". I thought "That does not seem like an appropriate question to ask a Mother". I'm glad I was wrong about the song title
Avatar 3:26pm

Avatar 3:27pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Hey!!! I'm flying on a wung and a prayer today - lost my trimonocle (the thing that enables me to kind of see) after the show, and my records got knocked over onto the floor during the absolute insanity of the sold out crowd during the Hammered Satin set. So I'm playing lots of the recrds I played, cuz they were the only ones in any semblence of order,somehow..Firgive me if you've heard some of themon the show too recently... sure was a fun night, tho!
  3:27pm
Kittimu:

Hmm. I might have to scrape the archives for skating songs... i probably won't, but I should
  3:28pm
Cheree July:

DJ Major Sally, I already took my bath before I came to assist Don.
Avatar 3:28pm

they did a special about that. It's in the title of the episode. Skate special or something like that.
Avatar 3:29pm

Don't worry, the songs and the show are fantastic! Hope you get your trimonocle soon and everything works out fine.

Ooh, dangerousminds. I was just reading an article on the Harlots of 42nd street on there, I think
Avatar 3:35pm
Mr. Oxford:

↳ Debbie Davenport @3:25
I imagine skateboarding in the 70s must have been fun. Roller skating too I guess since there used to be a whole culture at the time for doing that if I'm not mistaken.
Avatar 3:36pm
Mr. Oxford:

↳ Aitch @3:35
No problem! Cheers, mate!
  3:38pm
Kittimu:

actually, do any of you guys like the harlots of 42nd street? been very into them lately
Avatar 3:40pm
Mr. Oxford:

↳ Kittimu @3:38
I have never heard of them. Just looking them up and they seem interesting. They opened for NY Dolls it seems at one point and were a notable glam band from NYC. I am intrigued.
  3:41pm
Cheree July:

Milkies, Noah & Don are really into 'em.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm

Loads of skateboards in Oz as a kid.
I wish I had the ones then i've got now
  3:41pm
Kittimu:

Hope I don't get attacked for this... but I actually like them better than the New York Dolls
Avatar 3:43pm
Mr. Oxford:

↳ Kittimu @3:41
Then I definitely have to check them out!

As much as I like the New York Dolls, some days I like Milk n' Cookies more. That's blasphemous too, I know. :)
  3:45pm
Kittimu:

What's your fave new york dolls song?
Avatar 3:48pm
Mr. Oxford:

↳ Kittimu @3:45
I'd say it's a three way tie between "Trash", "Personality Crisis" and "Stranded in the Jungle".

What is your favorite song?
  3:48pm
Kittimu:

Probably Personality Crisis. I haven't really went through much of their discography though. I guess I also like Jet Boy
Avatar 3:48pm
Mr. Oxford:

↳ Aitch @3:41
I have never skateboarded. I am too afraid of those things. I can imagine summertime Oz as a perfect environment for skateboard fun.
Avatar 3:53pm
Mr. Oxford:

↳ Song: "Tinkertoy Tomorrow" by "Milk 'N' Cookies"
Oh yes!
Avatar 3:54pm
Debbie Davenport:

↳ Mr. Oxford @3:35
I only used to do it for a short time in the late 70's. Near my house on the sidewalks, not at a park or anything. When it got stolen I never replaced it. I moved to a foresty area after that and the boards got big and people got really serious with it and were about tricks. I used mine in that short time more like a bicycle or something. It was flourescent orange plastic. Not wood.
Avatar 3:56pm
Mr Fab:

↳ Mr. Oxford @3:26
Hahaha!
Avatar 3:56pm
Debbie Davenport:

I also used to do it barefoot and never with a helmet while listening to a radio.
Avatar 3:57pm
Mr Fab:

So wish I could have gone last night, but my free time will be nonexistent for a bit. Hope you find your eyeballs.
Avatar 4:00pm
Mr. Oxford:

↳ Song: "Ride a Black Sheep" by "Small Wonder"
Is it just me or the instrumental of the song really does sound quite similar to T Rex's "Jeepster"?
Avatar 4:01pm
Mr Fab:

↳ Kitten Sparkles @3:27
But glad it was a smash success, despite record calamities and eyeball-loss.
  4:01pm
Cheree July:

It's deliberately similar
  4:03pm
Kittimu:

I like this Chicory Tip song but the intro always startles me. Like, oh god, the sounds
Avatar 4:03pm
Mr. Oxford:

↳ Debbie Davenport @3:54
I'm sorry it got stolen. It seems you made some nice memories on the skateboard getting from one place to another "with the radio on" (that's my Jonathan Richman reference) :)
Avatar 4:03pm
Mr. Oxford:

↳ Cheree July @4:01
Oh I see.
