Well , a few things :
1st = the vibe of your show is a fabulous graveyard shift gift for insomniacs (& whatnots).
2nd = Zoe Keating is wonderful to see live in person - multi tracking her cello with devices (Dartmouth had an unadvertised student event that I somehow found myself attending, a mesmerizing semi intimate room event).
3rd = you got me to youtube that dreamland concept “radio noir play” …. Hhhhmmmm curious vibes.

So many thanks for YOUR overnight sharings.

Maude Maggart … previously unknown to me.
Perhaps a new (to me) female voice & singer to peruse !

Try very 70s vibes Film : (a belated discovery for me) :
“Get To Know Your Rabbit” = featuring Tommy Smothers ! … & liberally sprinkled Orson Welles. Directed by Brian de Palma (but not his typical fare).
It’s perhaps a “counter culture comedy”.
- perhaps a bit dated now , but I loved it anyway.
(Mostly because I never knew it even existed, before i bumped into it via TCM network).

Film & film experience aesthetics :
Indeed - agree with you , Popcorn & rustling products are often so audibly annoying (especially at quieter art house cinema).

I think I’m your long lost brother … so many similar “issues”.

Re “Happiness” (seeing it NOW, must be an extremely different experience than when it initially came out !)
I’m often the only person in the theater chuckling at the supposedly “no-longer acceptable” parts.

Knowing that you’re such a film enthusiast…
Have you seen Toni Erdmann (2016) directed by Maren Ade (a great German neo feminist (?) filmaker).
Toni Erdmann was definitely a fave of that year !

Also (i can’t help myself), have you seen “Together”(2000) - a Swedish comedy drama by stellar director Lukas Moodysson.
Definitely try his film s “Show Me Love” , Lily’s 4 Ever “ “we Are the Best”. Etc.

Hello Fox- I feel for you. People are idiots. No dignity. We “animals” must stoically put up with them. But the downfall of society is all by design. People acting like that comes from years of societal mental massaging of the “me” mentality. As in “what’s in it for me”. JFK was killed because he was stepping out of line of the Big Plan that is culminating.

I've been meaning to rewatch the 90's movie. I know it was absolutely awful. I remember thinking tht Matt LeBlanc can't emote, he just flares his nostrils.

BUT.

I also remember that Gary Oldman DOES NOT DISAPPOINT and that his portrayal of Dr Smith was a PERFECT bland of the original actor with just enough camp removed to be legitimately threatening. Fucking brilliant.
