This Flat Foot Floogee lead to a dive into a rabbit hole. The result of which you will hear in a few weeks

have only heard Slim Gaillard's take on Flat Foot Floogee until now.. thanks, Jan
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm
Krys O.:

I'm doing laundry in the basement too.

You'd get a different answer every day about the origin of the Stang name.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42pm
Jan Turkenburg:

↳ spodiodi @12:40
That indeed seems to be the most wellknown, but he recorded it three times at least, if my info is corret.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42pm
Krys O.:

My brother and I used to watch a lot of old movies on TV in the late 60s and early 70s. There were some great ones with the Andrews Sisters and others. Flat Foot Floogee with the floy floy would pop up now and again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm
Krys O.:

The camouflage of Connee's wheelchair was very creative.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm

I wonder if the shows were done in Luna Park.

If so it would be the year it burned down
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51pm
MHLee:

Also why is the Irish cop such a big stereotype in the past? I have a song from the 1920s that says something like when you hear the Irish you know it's a cop
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51pm
Jan Turkenburg:

So this would be Arnold Stang as well?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52pm
Jan Turkenburg:

(voices are harder to recognize if it's not your mother language)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm
Krys O.:

↳ Jan Turkenburg @12:51
No, that was Buddy Lester who was in Jerry Lewis movies in the 1960s. He would pop up on TV then too.

Arnold Stang had a very distinctive NY accent. He never varied from that. He was famous for it too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm
Jan Turkenburg:

So the other male was Jack McCarthy?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm
Krys O.:

By the way, the photo for part 1 of the radio show has young Julius La Rosa seated with Connee. He was Arthur Godfrey's sidekick who was fired on the air.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm
Krys O.:

↳ Jan Turkenburg @12:54
That's likely, yes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm
Jan Turkenburg:

↳ Krys O. @12:55
you mean like fired in front of the radio audience?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm
Krys O.:

↳ Jan Turkenburg @12:55
On TV.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm
spodiodi:

thank you Jan!
love your show
  Swag For Life Member 12:57pm
WR:

↳ Jan Turkenburg @12:55
Yes, lots of info on the Godrey Wikipedia page about the firing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm
Krys O.:

Captain Jack McCarthy ended up on TV hosting a kiddy show of Popeye cartoons and such.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm
Krys O.:

Thanks, Jan!!!
