Today's slogan reminds me of a NYT story about how having "passion" for one's work is not necessarily a good thing. The story was badly written and riddled with weak assumptions and inferences. My take is that it blames the worker victim, first, for claiming "passion"--an overused, hyperbolic expression that hints at irrationality--and second, for suggesting a worker should be wary of finding work rewarding, even in a dysfunctional organization. But of course the NYT would defend the master's privilege to rule as harshly and insidiously as the master chooses.
