Okkkaaayyy, so! As a Fire and Life Safety Director in NYC I can say! Hydronic fluid is a very real smell and constant in why elevators smell the same!

Fuuuurther more, there’s this weird side-smell we would get working on the elevator banks back then … a bitter scent…and I always kinda attributed it to model car glue or some shit and one day my foreman was like “no, lady. This is high grade turpentine… not your art school shit!”

… and I have never run so far away from that line of work…
