Capitalism is inescapable, so *they* say.
Most of our interactions have become commodified; it’s consumerism instead of community; I Me Mine; social media replaces gathering in person (who has the time anyway - gotta keep working to keep up with the price-gouging and the Joneses). Keep shopping is the mantra.
It’s no wonder that alienation and isolation set in, while trying to keep one step ahead of the relentless, merciless, ever-churning grinder of capitalism. Which leads to too many people succumbing to Deaths of Despair, with opioid overdose.
