Periodically, the BBC still re-runs old episodes of, "The Price of Fear," usually all at once, and usually around the holidays, which is why we have high-quality recordings of some of these episodes. (Like this one.)

This year, on "The Price of Fear," we are running all stories where Mr. Price himself is a character in the story... in some way or another.

I will look to see that. Your Ghoulardi episode triggered me to search for an Amarillo TX based host. My neighborhood friend's father was art director of local tv station and ended up doing the horror film host role. I lost touch with my friend decades ago (he died in a traffic accident while in high school). It was small market and the little bit that I remember, the presentations were not elaborate. So likely no documentation of it, but still searching to see what I can find.

↳ Song: ""Jungle Adventure"" by "The Black Castle"
For this "remastered" version of this story, I took the "enhanced" audio, as it was processed by some online tools, and lined it up with the original, which has the music and sound FX. I still had to cut a lot of the "enhanced" audio, as not all of it was even intelligible. But with some other EQ adjustments, and some pampering, I managed to get the sound to be a lot better than the versions that are floating around out there.

As mentioned earlier: one voice actor is doing all the voices for this story.

Even with enhancement tools, I couldn't use every word in the final mix, as not every "enhanced" word actually sounded like it was correct. So there's some editing and cutting here and there, in favor of the source file. But hopefully it sounds fairly even, as the show goes on.

Curious about running "enhancement" tools on audio like this: it is so focused on getting "words" and "voices" that it silences out other sounds, like FX and music. It's eerie to listen to without those elements, so the "enhanced" versions are very uncanny sounding.

Oh, wow! I haven't thought of that in ages. Probably haven't seen it since it came out.

So, the story just ends with the ghost saying, "The pistol's in the drawer, there."

Some part of me likes that there isn't a gunshot afterwards. You have to imagine that he kills himself.
