As we have done the last few weeks, all of our "Weird Circle" stories are Poe adaptations. And - like in the previous shows we've heard - this one takes quite a few liberties with the story, and most of the action from the text doesn't happen until later in this version.

↳ Song: ""Meeting In Athens"" by "The Price of Fear"
As I have been doing with "The Price of Fear" this month, all of the episodes I'm including actually have Vincent himself as a character in the story. It's nice to hear him break the fourth wall in these stories, and this one is no exception.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 9:33pm
Austin Rich:

↳ Song: ""Meeting In Athens"" by "The Price of Fear"
I did quite a bit of post-production to improve the sound on this episode. The recording of this episode that is easily floating around has poor sound. So with a combination of using some EQ tricks, and some digital enhancement tools, I was able to blend a "recreation" of the voices from this show, with the SFX and background music. I think it sounds a lot better than the rough version that I started with.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 9:33pm
Austin Rich:

It does sound like Vincent is admiring Mark there in that description.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 9:36pm
Austin Rich:

Hmmmm. He's got everything in that little book, I guess.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 9:39pm
Austin Rich:

The particular Digital Enhancement tool that I used gives you a file that has all the "speaking parts" enhanced, and tries to drop out the other sounds. What usually happens is that about 25% of the new "voices" are completely wrong. So, when I produced this "enhanced" version, I was snipping out all the words that were wrong, in favor of the original recording. Hopefully the sound is failry balanced, given all the slip-shod souces and whatnot.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 9:41pm
Austin Rich:

Probably more entertaining than the voices that are "enhanced" with the wrong word (or, more often, just gibberish that only sounds like voices), is when the enhancement tools try to find "words" in the sound effects, or music. Always curiously uncanny.
