fond memories of Helloween on Canadian counterpart to MTV Much Music. They weren't afraid to play Punk and Metal bands. In fact, they devoted whole features to it.

We had one of those ginormous satellite dishes in the 80s and lots of Canadian TV channels on a couple of satellites. Much Music blew MTV out of the water. Lots more music and punk and indie stuff that MTV wouldn't touch with a ten foot coke straw.

Another fond Much Music moment. Once a Canadian band were in house doing a live set and multi-string player and all round nutter David Lindley happened to stop by and they talked him into playing violin with the band and he plugged into someone's Marshall stack and it blew up live on television.
