It's really cool you help in this way sometimes. So this is a rerun show? Just so we know any voiceovers pertain to the past not the future.

Had to get offline, and reboot,. My PC, for reasons unknown, changed the year back to 2008, which took some time to remedy! Then, once I was able to get on Sheena's (which took forever!), it didn't give me the ability to reply to comments, or comment on songs, so...

the liner notes say that ELO say grosssss not Bruce in those spots. When I read that in junior high I really wondered what they heck it was supposed to mean. I still don't get it.
Avatar 3:35pm
Debbie Davenport:

Maybe they didn't want the Bruce they were talking about to get mad, so they claim it's grossss.
  3:37pm
Cheree July:

Maybe ELO meant girrrlss? They were kinda before my time, so what do I know?🤷‍♀️

girrrlss would make a lot more sense. All their records say gross though. so weird.

Vanda and Young are who groomed him into a glam rock character.
I read this when I was looking into him awhile back
"According to ABC-TV series, Long Way to the Top, he was one of three contenders for lead vocalist of AC/DC. However this was refuted by both of that group's founders, Angus and Malcolm Young."
My thought is if there is any truth to it he was probably just going by one of his other names and their brother was paying more attention to the whole process than they were.
  3:49pm
Cheree July:

Appendix Hard Headed Girl is playing now, by the way. Bear with us, the playlist is a little slow going because Don has WiFi issues in the desert & I'm not in the studio. I'm chilling at home in LA & in chat.
  3:49pm
Cheree July:

Really Debbie?
Avatar 3:51pm
Debbie Davenport:

↳ Cheree July @3:49
Yeah. One of their older brothers is who kind of shaped malcolm and angus into acdc too. so I wouldn't be surprised if they and William Shakespeare have a different memory of the origins. Even though Malcom and Angus were technically the leaders.
  3:53pm
Cheree July:

Argh! Too bad Don & I aren't in the studio to try to hit the high notes on this one!
Avatar 3:53pm

Cheree July:

I can't get over how every single other song by The Smoke sounds like My Friend Jack.
Avatar 4:19pm
Debbie Davenport:

↳ Cheree July @4:16
Status Quo is like Smoke in that way. Last night I was telling Gordon how every single Status Quo song that I like sounds the same. He said all of them sound like that! I have to disagree with that one because they leave me cold sometimes. But they also have been doing that for decades. still doing it since the 60's. So evidently I am mostly fond of a certain time frame from them.
