Charles Mingus said jazz was a word invented to separate musicians from their money. Music for a Free World brings us together, drawing listeners to the healing power of smooth free jazz. Each week, surprise guests bring their own sides to spin and their instruments of choice to spontaneously jam.

I saw Amirtha Kidambi this week, fave show this year maybe (she was a guest once I think). I know someone who worked at the venue before the show, she's the real deal too

She was a fine radio guest and is an astounding talent...

Wow, that's really very moving. Musicians, art, artists. I like to think the same thing about affecting those around me positively, in my own very limited way and world. I sometimes think about going into politics so that I could have a bigger impact.

This is all such great stuff. Thanks, Dave and David!

Do it, we need more people like you (it won't help me in the short term, but it's the right idea, which should spread, but won't if it doesn't start)

It was great indeed!
Unlike the Angel Bat Dawid one, where I was kicked out for basically being too old, after her call for peace of all things. What a fake

And unwilling to fight, which was my sin. No idea how much control she had over security (probably none), but it hurt

fred:

OK so how it unfolded: I was sitting cross legged, then Alpha and his girlfriend come in, with Beta in tow. Alpha steps on my leg, so I move to a crouch. Beta kicks my knee, so I move out to a crowded space on the side, keeping out. The five girls the security guy was chatting up move on, so he orders me out, needed space for the girls I guess. I know you don't know me but I'm scrawny, no threat ever.
That that came during/after Angel's call for peace was icing on the cake. I'll never go to that venue again, and Angel Bat Dawid is off unless she plays at a venue I trust, which is probably not happening
