Scorsese part, and the Woody Allen one is very funny. The Coppola one is not that great from what I remember but the Scorsese one really hits. Also features a young Steve Buscemi.

“We’ve been turned into cogs of pure desire.
The internet exists to soothe your thwarted desires. It’s a pacifier. Everything that you don’t have in your life you can get a simulation of. And that includes sex, achievement in the form of video games, and politics in the way you feel like you’re becoming a political subject.
It’s also predicated on never delivering those things, in only giving you the simulated version that you keep having to come back for. And the inevitable result of that is that you become desensitized, and you need more and more, because it’s not sufficient….which means that, the very structure of the internet - because that’s where the money’s at; it’s in the clicks - militates against ever doing anything constructive or positive.”

He’s from Chapo Trap House.
His podcasts during the pandemic were unbelievably amazing in their depth and breadth, grappling with the psychosis of capitalism, but through the lens of pop culture, deep and very entertaining takes in history and politics. There are many. And all worth listening to. Will restore sanity, make one feel less alone. Quite moving, stunning, really.
“All of these things (on social media, such as ‘cancel culture,’ questions about who is and who isn’t fascist…) are pseudo controversies, arguments to be had that are being indulged in by people who think they’re acting out of altruistic instincts but are just clearly trying to get their rocks off.
All of it is yelling at someone you can imagine is responsible for your pain….
All of it is fake. It’s a fucking masquerade to hide from ourselves the reality that we’re just yelling at a customer service rep. What is Twitter; what is social media but an unmoderated customer service chat room to the United States of America?
So we make a politics of sadism. Of punishing people who we can imagine are responsible. Because we are cut off from even imagining productive politics. (One) that challenges capitalism, from a position of strength and solidarity, that transcends race, gender and generation, but is unified around an understanding of humanity, that insists that there is more to the human experience than can be expressed in numbers. Which is the drive of the Capitalist Algorithm. Which is pulling the soul out of humanity.”
