Franco Twinkie:

I know it was the Summer of 1967, because she hadn't moved away yet, but I was talking to the girl who lived across the street in her front yard and she offhandedly told me she had seen Buffalo Springfield the night before. "WHAT!?" I managed to gurgle out. A couple of years later, I met an older guy who had hair like an Apache Indian, who rolled his own cigarettes. I was in his bedroom and he had a poster for Buffalo Springfield, County Joe and the Fish, Canned Heat and some band called The Hook at The Long Beach Arena thumbtacked on the wall. I asked him about it and he told me it was the last concert they did before breaking up and he was there. Well, we became friends, and since I was only fifteen and didn't have a drivers license yet, he became my ride to shows. He had a 1967 Chevy Camaro which became my ride. Years later, I drove past his house and saw his dad sitting out in the front yard I stopped to say hi, but he was obviously having problems with his memory, so his wife came out and we started talking. I told her I was always over her house in 1970. She didn't remember because she was always at work. I mentioned Steve's Camaro "That was MY car!" She stated bluntly.

I stood corrected and went on my way.
