Obscure musical gems, avant experimentation, and classics worth rehearing. A conurbation of Leslie speakers, timbales, plungers, arch-tops, tablas, and squeaky reeds. Black ties, pork pies, Cuban boots, Nudie suits, bobbysocks, turtlenecks, and high-heeled sneakers. Jazz is the north star but it’s a wide universe, so says The Laughing Clock.

This afternoon there was a bandcamp listening session for this album. During the "For Raphael Garrett" I was considering mentioning David Mittleman's show on drummer streamer yesterday featuring Garrett. Steven of AUM who was moderating the listening session beat me to it. He posted a link and encouraged people to go listen.

Wow, I'm suddenly remembering that I used to have an alarm clock that I could set to use an internet music stream or folder of MP3s as the alarm. Where did that feature go in the consolidation of all things into our stupid phones. I had it set to Yahoo music or folder of Kevin Ayers tunes.

I have a fairly recent "internet radio" that does that, but the company went out of business during the pandemic when it couldn't get the chips necessary to make new ones. This is unfortunate (though they weren't cheap, so not available to everyone even when they existed).
