Yes, Andrew. Ride the Lobster was an 800 km, 5-day unicycle race here in Nova Scotia, June 15-19, 2008.
Many of the top competitive riders in the World attended, along some riders who just wanted to see if they could do it.

I was at the general assembly of Instants Chavirés on Friday, they might move in the coming years. Much better place, but more out of the way. I said it would be hard for me to keep going if they don't move shows a little earlier, but I think it's a good move, especially financially (devil's in the details of the lease, which is not finalized at this point). Good news overall, as the burden of renting the current venue was getting downright crushing

One issue is that they were hosting musicians (and feeding them, which isn't usual). Not sure the new space would allow that, but they'll find a way.
It's not done yet (many broken promises along the years).

Fun thing is that it's a non-profit, and for the second year in a row I was the only regular member (meaning not on the board) to show up. I'm too busy with dance shows to commit to joining the board, and they need a token regular member (though it means they have to say things twice, it's fun and quite fast). It genuinely took me decades to get a copy of "Tong" (Japanese re-issue CD) from when I first learned of it in the late 70s, via the Watt Music listing of available music books of Ms. Bley's works (I have the "EOTH" reduced score -- swooning still!). It is one of those albums I consider as Carla stealth albums -- it may not be her name listed up top, but they sure are "hers." (Liberation Music Orch, that Nick Mason one, etc)

I wonder how Eastman would feel about the trap drummer's beat. Maybe would have liked the tension? But for me part of the magic of Eastman is that slightly swung rhythm building into trance intensity. (Easier to get there with straight eights IMO)
