This might sound like a re-run, only because I did play this episode on the air around Christmas, one year. But this is the place this story pops up in the show's regular run.

I do sort of like how Richard is really a - ahem - dick to everyone, even the women he wants to date. Some detective shows try to make you like the lead, and paint them in a nice light. Not this show.

This particular recording of Rogue's Gallery is not as good as others, so I did a little production to try and improve things as best I could. Hopefully it sounds a little more clear than the version I aired during the holidays.

That castle guard was intended to sound ridiculous, of course.
Like the climactic scene in “A Fish Called Wanda” where Cleese’s character taunts the American villain about North Vietnam:
”I’m tellin’ ya, baby, they kicked a little ass there. Boy, they whupped your hide,
REAL GOOD!”
The screenplay even says “(In bad American accent)”.

I think I only knew that afterwards, too. (I don't believe any promotional materials / ads said anything like that.) And I wasn't as familiar with the Charlton Characters until after DC folded them into their ranks. I would love to find old Blue Beetle comics, but they are often very costly.

There are parts of this story that also feel like the Alex Cox comic book, "Waldo's Hawaiian Holiday," which was a comic follow-up to "Repo Man."

The story is: upon returning to Earth, our hero finds that the planet is no longer the way it used to be, and seems more like a crazy prison.
