Afterwards I can say it's not my cup of tea musically, but I found Gira to be a really intelligent guy, super passionate about the music he creates and dedicated strongly to his live performances and also very generous with his time towards his audience. Those things all endear me to him. Much respect.

The Roman official messenger service (and the Persians' before it) was essentially horse relay stations at several points. Gallup quickly to the next one, and the next rider gallups on with the missive.

But really, you need a couple of current-gen Mac Minis in each studio to reduce maintenance nightmares.

And almost none of the mainstream audio software is available in Linux versions. There are useable Linux substitutes for a lot of things, but if you want to use, say Pro Tools™®, y'r outta luck. This isn't Linux's fault; it's the companies like Avid who write software, and don't bother doing Linux versions.

There are probably bad people who target, say, Linux server farms, but that has nothing to do with a home or office PC, really.

But for studio DAWs, one of the commercial desktop platforms (macOS or *cough* Windows) is a much better fit, so the accustomed polished commercial applications can run there.

I have some other stuff installed on my computer that does more ProTools/Reason/etc.. stuff than Audacity (LMMS, Ardour) but I've never really sat down and learned how to use it. I bet it's totally useable. But people are used to ProTools, etc.

This is the only little dumb mad-making thing I can think of right now. Everything else I need just works on my Linux machine.
The other aggravating thing is that I bought a keyboard controller last winter. It works fine with all the Linux midi software I have, but I can't install the software suite provided with the keyboard, so I can't use all the sounds in the sound library that came with the keyboard (and of course there's no reason for me to buy library extensions for more sounds, because they won't work outside their software suite, which only exists for Linux and Mac machines).
