there were pointilist imitators, but it's hard to say who his artistic progeny is conceptually as an observer of urban life and class... i think it's interesting to look at seurat through a marxian lens, his progeny might be people like duchamp anfd picabia... it might be interesting to compare seurat's optics with duchamp's rotoscopes
