Summer of 1965. Our family had just moved from Amarillo TX to Houston TX. Another family that moved at the same time had a daughter a 2 or 3 years older than me. She had a car. We went to see them at the afternoon show. We got good seats (it was GA). It was recorded and I got a copy a few years ago. Even with the non-stop screaming we could hear the band ok.

It was my first concert and first live band, not counting see bands at school dances.

Michael Palin, Terry Jones, and Eric Idle were on the British comedy series for children called Do Not Adjust Your Set from 1967-1969 and The Bonzo Dog Band performed songs on each episode. This was around the time of Magical Mystery Tour when the Bonzos appeared in said Beatles film. All of the above (Beatles, Python, and Bonzos) were big fans of The Goons. All good things flowed from said Goons.

Yes, along with Spike Milligan and Harry Secombe. Michael Bentine was part of the first two radio series 1950/51. Spike wrote all the scripts. John Lennon's writing style was heavily influenced by Spike.
