The Radio Is Broken is a three-hour spelunk through the canyons and fissures of humanity's collective unconscious. It sounds as if a field recording of the Culture Industry were a sonic juggernaut barreling down a rickety track—except that tunnel ahead is just painted onto a sheer cliff wall. With occasional forays into what might pass for "normal" music. Prerequisite journey: Cratedigger's Lung

This balancing act is particularly vivid in the pair's Can't Swallow It, which charts the relationship that develops between that logorrheic Valkyrie and her voyeur-cum-documentarian as the two move from confrontation to empathy during the course of an off-kilter dérive through Los Angeles. Wandering a largely depopulated city, the woman regales her newfound companion with tales that run from personal reminiscences to insane ramblings." - Jeffrey Kastener, Electronic Arts Intermix

They're playing with Napalm Death in my town. I MIGHT go, but I've seen them pretty much every time they've been through town and I don't think the set is going to be much different from what I'm seeing.
But Napalm Death.

Saccharine Trust opened. I think I was the only person who liked them, though the sound man wasn't doing them any favors

Looks like Black Flag were all dedicated hair farmers in '86, according to this coiffure chart: thelearnedfangirl.com...

I'm a huge fan of the Wyatt era but didn't become a fan or very aware of Hopper's work until he passed away, unfortunately. This album is really peculiar and fun.

Soft Machine 2 is one of the albums what going in my crate when they shovel dirt on me, so to speak. I love it as much as I love Eno's first two albums and Wyatt's Rock Bottom.

I've got the '81 Nick Mason LP, Fictitious Sports, composed & produced by Carla Bley, featuring Wyatt as lead singer. It's great! Still, I'm a stranger.

I saw S.T. open for B.F. twice in 1984.
The audience was paralyzed with horrified revulsion. I recall only one person snapped out of it enough to yell "You suck".

A guy at the show told me he talked to Rollins about his Vans sneakers and they were really getting along until he said something derogatory about ST and the tone went south, I think it was tour long phenomenon they had gotten sick of by then.

I saw Universal Congress Of in Bloomington some years later, who got a better reception, but also never really took off...hard to understand
