The songwriter and lead singer (László Sallai) is brilliant and badass with immense literary and musical knowledge that he expresses in these great straightforward-seeming songs that have lots of layers. Last night I went to hear him give a lecture-performance about the literary journal Nyugat ("West") that had its heyday in the early decades of the 1900s. It was fantastic--he told about the journal, the editors, and the writers, and at various intervals played his own musical renditions of poems published in it. He plays not only in Felső Tízezer, but in Platon Karataev, Galaxisok, and a few side projects.

His store is about 50 miles inland from the epicenter of the earthquake. “It started off slowly with a few hits and then a lull. Then it really shook. I saw redwood trees hitting each other. Things fell off the our shelves and there was some cracking in the stucco.”

The songwriter and lead singer (László Sallai) is brilliant and badass with immense literary and musical knowledge that he expresses in these great straightforward-seeming songs that have lots of layers. Last night I went to hear him give a lecture-performance about the literary journal Nyugat ("West") that had its heyday in the early decades of the 1900s. It was fantastic--he told about the journal, the editors, and the writers, and at various intervals played his own musical renditions of poems published in it. He plays not only in Felső Tízezer, but in Platon Karataev, Galaxisok, and a few side projects.

His store is about 50 miles inland from the epicenter of the earthquake. “It started off slowly with a few hits and then a lull. Then it really shook. I saw redwood trees hitting each other. Things fell off the our shelves and there was some cracking in the stucco.”
