I have read somewhere that Ellington did have 2 bass players for a short time (not those 2 names, though). Wellman Braud was in the band first, then Ellington found Jimmy Blanton and asked him to join the band, but didn't have the heart to let go of Braud. But Braud did leave the band shortly thereafter (if my memory serves me well).

I was psyched to tune in today for the Breuker, but the Kevin Norton track is also killer! Great mix of Klezmer, jazz, classical. LOVE Krakauer!.
The Breuker was great as expected (that band was great live, glad I got to see them).
Great last set!
