Hey Joe, thanks for this perfect set. Lots of groups I didn't know about. I learned about the Mills Brothers from Max Fleischer (Betty Boop cartoons). Love this 30's vocal pop
Haven't thought about Fred and Lamont in ages. Thanks for reminding me. Those were different times.

Good Morning Joe and all, I have to be in a Zoom meeting in fifteen minutes, so I'm catching some of the show. Yeah, Mr. Sanford used to sing The Inkspots If I Didn't Care repeatedly on the show. Sanford & Son was a favorite of mine growing up.
...the gentleman who portrayed the character of "Mister Green Jeans" on 'The Captain Kangaroo Show' was Lumpy Branum. He was a 'mountain man' from the Poconos in PA.
Morning Mark 91: I remember Mr. Green Jeans! He also had played bass violin! [?] And worked in Fred Waring and His Pennsylvanians. (I just looked at Wickedpee.)
Yes - the lead in that is the actor who was the grandfather in 'A Hard Day's Night'. The running gag about him being 'very clean' refers to him being filthy in the series...
My 5 year old son was asking about Godzilla movies. He wanted to know who all Godzilla fought. As I was going down the list, I realized I couldn't remember which were actual movies and which came from Sanford and Son - haha!

👍No Dutch tour dates yet I see on their website :( But a really nice find, will have to login in to bandcamp again soon :)
PlutoTV has a continuous Godzilla channel. The first thing to learn is Godzilla films are separated into a few specific Eras... Well, there are entire websites for this of course...
That's good! I love finding Jamaican pressings. My two favorites are a dancehall 45 in which the center label was stuck on over the grooves and another that has sand imbeded in it.
Hey folks, my book is called "The Plus-One: Getting By on Good Connections in the Analog Age." It's about '70s suburbia, cassette making, Winona Ryder, celebrity culture, brother worship, 80s East Village, and finding your way. Bob Mehr wrote a nice back-cover blurb for me. Hope you'll take a look: bookshop.org...
and www.amazon.com...
I usually don't do much other than run a record brush over the grooves. With the Jamaican press records I mentioned, the jankiness if the pressings is part of the fun for me.

wink Martindale also had a with deck of cards. He was a disc jockey.
Wow - I hope you enjoy it! Don't know the sketch, but the word is definitely in the current lexicon. In my case it's sort of metaphorical as well as actual.
From WT's Bandcamp: "Something about the frailty and space I wanted the songs to imply was lost in the over-production of the studio record, This felt like a reclamation of the songs and also a symbolic tribute to the stunning, haunted and vast possibilities of the American West, especially at the twilight of American Empire." - I loved "Goes West", didn't think it was overproduced, but this new version is very cool too...
Real estate is so expensive and space is at such a premium that stores can only stock what they think will sell quickly: best-sellers in best-selling genres.
Will forever rank very high for me, for her agreeing to appear at the anarchist bookshop/educational center/activist hub Property Is Theft in E Wmsbg, Bklyn, where she probably split a small door donation between two other great acts.
Couldn’t be more important in this moment to raise one’s anti-capitalist voice much louder. Brigid and her ilk are folk heroes.
Deny. Defend. Depose.
Time to get off the sidelines. The moment is now - Rise up, 99%!
