his show was entertaining for a long time (years?) then gradually he'd just do concept shows, more often than not not involving music. every week i'd tune-in, and every week i'd turn it off. come back in an hour to see if anything else is going on yet. Nope! he's still reading the tax table, or repeating the words of a tv advertisement over and over...
i guess it was an exercise in understanding people's willingness to waste their time.

Interesting things happen all the time. No dearth of those. I would say, and I doubt Kenny G would concur, that we are a largely uninspired people, by which I mean there is little, almost nothing, that inspires us. We should not expect art to be interesting. i think there's beautiful new art around us constantly. maybe not new *conceptually*, but that shouldn't matter. it may or may not be beautiful in the *traditional* sense; but beautiful in a thought-provoking sense.
even yet another picture of yet another poor person in yet another typical destitution...yes more often than not it's just the same old formula; but some percentage of the time people still bring out something that makes you think...or that you can pick apart and find all kinds of very thought-out detail...

start rant\
AI is marketing term for algorithms, a concept that has been in computing since the beginning. Sure there has been advances of getting huge data arrays and more complicated approaches to algorithms. But I've not come to bury AI, just sneer at it so enough of that.

For the drummer stream there is definitely some algorithm involved because you can notice that it usually plays two recordings in a row that are of a type, like old time blues or folk rock or hillbilly or whatever then goes on to the next "type". Even for some mp3 players there is "random" play mode, which would use whatever algorithm the player developer put in.

I've never asked or found out what stream play software they use for the drummer stream to find out what options it has. At this point of the internet, I assume that Doug didn't have to manually tag the audio files he loaded into the stream, that the software uses similar online resources like CD rip software does to grab the metadata or even just reads the metadata that was put into the audio files when they were ripped.

Sorry to rant on about this, when seems you and others were just doing casual speculation.

I guess I just too sensitive and grumpy about all the investment speculation and marketing wars over a logical continuation of computer programming.
