	12:59pm still b/p: Speaking of presumably Scandinavian things, I saw the beginning of a Marvel Thor movie on television the other night. The flip, sarcastic, busy and fairly manic nonsense of backstory in the first few minutes didn't seem remotely connected to anything Norse or traditional -- a mishmash of flavors and smug wiseguy air. And it wasn't remotely interesting enough to stick with. Old school isn't the only way to approach things, but self-aware BS and splashy randomness weren't securing the head on the entertainment hammer for me at all.
