This is where all of culture and all of time are collapsed into one seductive portal and viewed through the panoramic lens of the exotic. Come and embark on an armchair-travel virtual-voyage to the heart of timeless darkness and beyond; embrace the numinous monolith of the exotic immensity. Let us find that place where hybridization meets its destiny as pure fantasy. Let us become observers observing those others who are ourselves. You wear your mask and I'll wear mine.

i prefer vinyl, but that's mostly because i like the feeling of it, the crackles and pops of the surface noise, carefully having to alphabetize my bookshelf

it's a pain in the ass, but i like that it's a pain in the ass, the convenience of streaming just (to me at least) makes the listening experience a lot more detached and impersonal

there's no charm to it, there's no surface noise, i can cue it up on command without having to peruse through discogs or hit the local record shop, i don't have to wait with bated breath for that krautrock release to be reissued because original copies go for $700

shame this album is rarer than hen's teeth, it's awesome

always wanted to know how dauner got all of these sounds, sounds more like musique concrete than free jazz

i think what's going on is weber running his guitar through all sorts of filters, dauner's using a bunch of synths, and braceful is doing some jamie muir-esque stuff with homemade percussion

it's the same clavinet we just heard on the Kenyatta, but run through a ring modulator (i think he uses it on the kenyatta too, but more sparingly)

They had sort of a cooling off period after that NNCK album until their comeback in 2016 with It Do, which was basically a collab between the founder Christian Burchard and his daughter Marja. Then Christian passed, and now Marja is in charge and doing fantastically! Not many bands you can truly say have been going nonstop since 1969....
