Good to hear you back on the air. I just happen to be home today, and being able to hear you do a show is a very pleasant surprise. How was Montreal?

Yay, Irwin.
  4:05pm

it's a shame fm frequencies are odd numbers. otherwise, we could have 98.6 fm -- the normal hits!

Those signs are about washing the towels (or not), not about flushing the toilet. But hey, keep on flushing.

Jimmy S.:

If you could build a wayback machine and release The Black Crowes' stuff on vinyl in 1973, would it sell?
  4:56pm
Ike:

No. It sells in the modern day entirely due to misplaced and dopey buyers' nostalgia. The people in 1973 HAD to be more intelligent than to fall for the Black Crowes swindle.
  5:01pm
Sean Daily:

Oh God, where did you get "Fried Sandwich Play"? Where can I GET it?
  5:02pm
Ike:

Yeah, "Fried Sandwich Play" is awesome.
  5:08pm
Peter K.:

Lee Morgan AND Horace Silver AND Clifford and Max -- seamlessly blended in with all that other great and weird stuff -- THIS is why I listen to WFMU! (I wonder why more FMU program hosts don't play jazz??)
  5:10pm
Curtis:

Thank you for playing Miss Hukkelberg. I am a Hukkelbergy Hound!
  5:11pm
Peter K.:

No, Irwin, no. It is NOT Clifford Brown and the Max Roach Quintet, and though that indeed would make it a sextet, it doesn't because it isn't.

It's the Clifford Brown-Max Roach Quintet. Brown and Roach were the co-leaders. There were three other members (tenor saxophone, piano and bass), for a total of five. Hence "quintet." Trust me on this.
  5:12pm
Riggity Rambozo:

If you comeback, people won't stop dancing in the streets. They're will be mass hysteria, people will pass out, police will be in under their heads, SOCA!!!
  5:15pm
Irwin:

Peter, I defer to your authority on the matter. Playlist corrected. Thanks for fact-checking.
  5:25pm
aunt fritzi:

irwin,,,will you come to my ice cream social 2morrow nite??,,do u have a fave flavor??
  5:31pm
Riggity Rambozo:

  5:47pm
Irwin:

R. Stevie Moore and the Meadowbrook Big Band: "The Meadowbrook Skip"
  5:47pm
Peter K.:

Thanks for the kind words. It's not easy being the world's editor, but someone's gotta do it. Too bad there isn't more money in it.
  5:50pm
