Your friend, Larry

  9:24pm
Life:

  9:25pm
Kwiz:

Boo. This show is not very good.
  9:27pm
Kwiz:

Am I on the track to being banne, yet?
  9:28pm
Irwin:

Kwiz, you am hurt the feelings. Now I am go and must die now. Good look at you done! Sad is.
  9:30pm
Kwiz:

Lame!

You fake the hurting. Getting banned from you may not be worth the effort.
  9:32pm
dave:

if kwiz gets bans, i want some too. it's only fair. i hope you brought enough for everyone.

also, pram. yay.
  9:33pm
Kwiz:

Ouch, this music just took a turn for the horrible. I really am hurting inside.

Play the good Hayden.
  9:41pm
slugluv1313:

i heard The Cure's "Friday I'm In Love" broadcast over the Hoboken A&P's "sound" system one night . . . not sure which feels more bizarre, hearing The Cure in the A&P or the Scala Choir's version . . .
  9:43pm
Kwiz:

OK, I think you've redeemed yourself, now. That mashup was belligerent..
  9:43pm
slugluv1313:

yum, yum, me likey the OUCH! music pero not so sure about my kitties (they appear to be rather confused)
  10:13pm
Kwiz:

I'm feeling pretty randy myself. Watch out kitties!!
  10:14pm
Ike:

These taxes taste funny.
  10:15pm

  10:33pm
slugluv1313:

IKE!!!!!!!!!!!!

how did the job thang go the other day????????????
  10:34pm
slugluv1313:

ALWAYS great to hear Terry Reid . . . thanks, Irwin!!!!!!!!
  10:47pm
Ike:

Hey Slugluv. They hired me. But I wouldn't be surprised if they got out a whip and shouted, "Faster! Faster!" And my iPod is broken, and there's no FMU reception there, so close to Empire due to multipath... I wish that booster was already in place. Sigh.
  10:47pm
Irwin:

Hey, Ike -- thanks for the quote (via Mr. Lupica).
  10:48pm
WHT:

John Allen had an interesting interview with Terry Reid in 2005. The guy did not seem depressed at all with the missed opportunities.
  10:49pm
dave:

i get the impression that margaux's found a healthy way to deal with poor FMU reception. maybe you should chat with her about that, Ike.
  10:59pm
Ike:

Dave, my reception at home is perfect. And at work, I don't have time to yell into C60s. or to stop typing for one single second for that matter, lest they chain me up for crimes of slowness.

Iriwn, thanks for the heaping sacks of extra sonic snow peas tonight. The Hayden horse wasn't too gristly either.
  11:04pm
dave:

multitask, ike, MULT. I. TASK. yell WHILE you type.
  11:10pm
Ike:

I'll stick w/listening to cassettes at work, not yelling into them, Dave. I've been digging out old Maxell 90s from the '90s for the moldy Walkman.
  11:14pm
dave:

i don't get it. where has this R.E.M. _been_ for the last 20 years?
  11:18pm
Droll:

I think Z101's been playing that song (or similar) for the past 20 years. The B-52's also stumbled onto the Fountain of Youth recently, too. There's a lot less filler on those records when they spend 15 years writing.
  11:22pm
JA:

Cleve played a thrilling set w/ Cooper -Moore at Zeubulon a few hours ago. -eyewitness
  11:23pm
dave:

i dunno. the B-52s' latest sounds to me like they're just rehashing what they've been doing since they got boring. Accelerate sounds like the album that SHOULD have come after Life's Rich Pageant, had the crop of imposters that's been running the band for the last two decades not locked the real REM up in the meat locker at Walter's BBQ and set about producing soul-crushing adult contemporary music.

not that i'm bitter about it.
  11:28pm
Droll:

Dave -- I hear ya. Music just hasn't been the same since they replaced Paul McCartney with an automata. I've lost track of how many musicians and bands they've done that to... I stopped counting after Genesis was replaced with 3 robots playing vacuous pop dribble.
  11:33pm
dave:

i'm just saying i liked them before they sold out.

and by "them", i mean the beatles.
and by "sold out" i mean "picked up an instrument".
  11:40pm
Steve Barton:

Now, this is a great Sunday night show...or should I say charming?!
  11:43pm
Irwin:

Hello, Mr. Barton. Nice to hear your voice -- in a manner of speaking -- after all these years.
  11:44pm
Droll:

If you think those bands nosedived, you should hear the 2nd Margaux album, The Relapse (C60, NR:B). She covers Jessie's Girl before crying the FMU station ID. A real yawner.
  11:47pm
dave:

if you don't think margaux's sophomore effort is her magnum opus, you have no heart. i pity you. the juxtaposition of "I GET JUNK MAIL WITH MISSING KIDS ON IT" against "Too Much Time On My Hands" is just gut-wrenching.
  11:50pm
keeg:

This show is fun! Bill Kelly played the SUPERNATURAL/SERIOUS also today. I do like it, I am afraid to say. Yo, I worked on the video for REM's STAND which WAS hideous. Yeah, I have the records up to Life's Rich P. and listened to 2 or 3 after that-once.
  11:50pm
Steve Barton:

Still baritone, still supporting this great station (2009 can't get here fast enough so I can use my Old Codger calendar). No complaints about REM or any pop music that makes it's way onto FMU. I swear the best pop sing of the last ten years I heard first on Ken's show -- was driving down I-20 to Charleston with the kids in the back a month later and there is was again on Star 94 now, Hey Ya! by Atlanta's own. Finger poppin' and no wonder Ken played it. I enjoy all you do Irwin! Keep it up. -- Steve (singed the petition to make surface noise the National Anthem)
  11:53pm
Steve Barton:

Well, I could have burned or sung the petition, but I think I signed it in my dotage...
  11:55pm
dave:

i think actually sticking the petition on the turntable and pointing the speakers out the window was the preferred method of expressing yr support.

hard on the cartridge, though.
  11:55pm
Steve Barton:

Hooray, where's my red book to wave!
  11:56pm
dave:

... and now i have to listen to the internationale.

on repeat.

THANKS.
  11:57pm
Marty from Chico:

Paul Robeson--what a voice!
  11:58pm
slugluv1313:

yeah!!!!!

HUNGARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gulyas! gulyas! gulyas!!!!!!!!!!
  11:59pm
slugluv1313:

my Mom adored Paul Robeson but i dunno about *that* song!!!!!!!!!!!!
