Listener comments!

  12:03pm SmokinJ:

Wow! First j of the day:)
  12:03pm Cecile:

g'day Joe!
  12:06pm HalfBreed:

Are you Australian Cecile? hehe
  12:08pm Bad Ronald:

Hey Joe, my radio now Belock'd to the Three Chord Monte. Take it away!!!
  12:09pm SmokinJ:

Here we go! The Joe Experience...
  12:10pm Cecile:

this Sloan song is the best "get off my damn lawn" song I've heard in a while.

No, halfie, but I lived down there for a year a long time ago.
  12:12pm rubble:

nice one bad ronald!
  12:13pm bob loblaw:

Love this song. Old Flaming Lips is so good...
  12:13pm HalfBreed:

How wonderful! Just curious. With this weather I could tolerate the change of pace..That would fit the bill. But the bear & smoke is much cheaper here in the states..
  12:15pm dc pat:

oh yeah, the FLips!!
  12:17pm bob loblaw:

Too bad new Flaming Lips sucks.
  12:18pm dc pat:

yeaaahh, afraid you're right bob...last time I saw 'em I yelled "BRING YER GUITARS NEXT TIME!!!"
  12:19pm Cecile:

oh, lord. I saw that Fox movie a zillion years ago. It was about as, er, "good" as this song.
  12:20pm Cecile:

what's the new Baltimore, then?
  12:21pm still b/p:

Yeah, but remember the great 60s style cartoon credits that went with that song at the opening of the picture? Silly period credits like that...now that's a video compilation I'd watch.
  12:22pm dc pat:

why Pittsburgh of course!
  12:23pm Rubble:

After The Fox was fantastic... Sellers does some of his best and so much of the commentary holds up even today. Netflix it! And I do love the theme song, too. It's right up there with Lord Love A Duck!
  12:23pm Cecile:

hee, I was going to say that.

Vaguely, and yeah, b/p, I'd pay for that.

Rubble, I might have to review it, it was a long time ago.
  12:24pm dc pat:

WAIT a minute, what did he say about DC???
  12:28pm Mark Traeger / Tri-City Bicycles:

you so rocked HACKETTSTOWN!!!!!
  12:29pm Cecile:

we need that "youth and experience" song if you got it.
  12:30pm Joe B:

Hey Mark! Long time no talk! Hopeall is well!

Hi everyone, thanks for checking in.
  12:30pm efd:

good choice! I'm putting together a short list of "goodbye" songs for my Inauguration night show, may have to trot this one out again.
  12:30pm Joe B:

Pat, I think the reference to DC is ... Brooklyn is to Manhattan as Baltimore is to DC, meaning it's close but not the real thing. I am guessing but it seemed a positive!
  12:31pm rubble:

b/p, ther eis a fantastic box set of the pink panther cartoons. Bet you'd love it.
  12:31pm annie:

it's gonna be a great week for music, again. the send-off of bush...
  12:31pm Joe B:

EFD, can you find a way to fit Hoagiefest into the set?
  12:33pm Leon Trotsky:

I remember when Nixon resigned (!) and the DJ on WNEW-FM played a set featuring The Beatles' *Fool on the Hill.* The song took on new meaning for me....
  12:33pm dc pat:

Well....alright then...if that's what he was sayin'...

FLips: I was with them in all their incarnations until they started sounding like Supertramp.
  12:35pm fishmonkeystew:

Hey, I have this CD. It's freakin' hilarious. Especially when I randomly send tracks from it to some of my more conservative co-workers.
  12:35pm GP:

Joe, these GWB singers...yeah, that is just what I needed today...LOL
  12:36pm RZ:

I would say go back and listen to supertramp to do a fair assessment but I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
  12:36pm annie:

i love this, it's just as funny as the capitol steps
  12:37pm ?:

The "Na-na goodye"chorus is so in your face when used by sports fans and sundry gloaters, which is funny because the other lyrics are kinda high, lite, pleasant and ez flow.

Thanks for suggestion, rubble.

re credits -- I read years ago that film credit compilations that designers and fans would enjoy are pert
near impossible due to rights held too tightly.
  12:37pm dc pat:

yeah, that'll happen RZ
  12:38pm still b/p:

Still breathing, puzzled and inattentive to name entry.
  12:39pm Rubble:

Dumbass was characteristiically up to speed yesterday with "misunderestimated'
  12:40pm Cecile:

RZ:
dreamer! You know you are a dreamer!
You've got your head in the sand, oh no!
  12:40pm dc pat:

whoa, he said that?? dang, what an idiot. I'm an idiot too but I'm not the President...
  12:41pm dc pat:

AAAAHhh!! CUT it out Cecile!! That's why I started listening to punk rock!!
  12:42pm Cecile:

bwaahhahahahahahahahahahahaha
  12:45pm still b/p:

Tribute song: the Capitols could redo "Cool Jerk" as "Cool Smirk".
  12:47pm still b/p:

Mo' better: "Fool Smirk."
  12:47pm annie:

what fun!!!!
  12:48pm JJZ:

Aw, I had the sound down low and wasn't paying much attention and I thought I was hearing Georgy Girl.
  12:48pm ted:

George Bush LIed was written by ukulele player Carmaig de Forest. I dont know who is doing that version
  12:50pm ted:

DeathGrooveLoveParty is Carmaig de Forest too..
  12:51pm annie:

how do you spell annihilation?
  12:53pm still b/p:

H-o-m-o s-a-p-i-e-n-s.
  12:55pm dc pat:

well, that Ray song wasn't THAT bad I guess.
  12:55pm annie:

great i got it right except for the second s
  12:58pm still b/p:

Well, I wouldn't want to go second 's'-ing anybody.
  1:02pm Rubble:

dc pat you're just brimming over with positivity today!
  1:06pm SmokinJ:

Allen Oldies Band Rules!
  1:09pm Cecile:

Can I hear music from Eegah?
  1:11pm Joe B:

I don't think Steckler did Eegah did he? On this CD though so sure!
  1:13pm Cecile:

no, he didn't go eegah, Hall's dad did.
When you said "Arch Hall film music" i just automatically thought of Eegah!
  1:21pm Cecile:

THANKS!
*doing the twist, as I now have twist fever*
  1:24pm AnAnonymousParty:

"Watch out for snakes!"
  1:33pm SmokinJ:

Finally Joe slips it into 5th. gear:)
  1:36pm Ismael:

like Yogi sez, "if you come to a fork in the road, take it."
  1:37pm SmokinJ:

You got that right Ismael!
  1:38pm Cecile:

great stuff.
  1:41pm matteo from florence:

thank for your programm, great, cyaq
  1:47pm SmokinJ:

Now you'r talkin'! RIP Brother Ron.
  2:01pm adam:

damn, i was at that stooges show...it was so so killer.
  2:01pm doug:

yeah. the f****ing stooges.
thanks man. this set is turning around my afternoon.
  2:02pm tom807:

Wonderful stuff. Go Ron.
  2:02pm Cecile:

absolutely awesome.
  2:04pm adam:

they made every other band on that festival look like total wankers.
  2:05pm dc pat:

perfect.
  2:05pm The Gift:

Ron loved everyone.
  2:05pm paulthepostman:

I never fully appreciated how f***ing cool this band is...
  2:07pm Big Steven:

Adam, except the Dictators and Dolls
  2:07pm Cecile:

Fun House is so flipping amazing that it should be declared a national monument.
  2:07pm SmokinJ:

Joe, you are kickin' ass!
  2:08pm Cecile:

I saw the Dolls this past year, first time, and it was one of my top 5 shows easy.
  2:10pm Cecile:

I want a $4 seat!
  2:10pm tom807:

You're killing me Mr. TCM. Thank you.
  2:10pm SmokinJ:

Christ! I think I'm gonna' faint!
  2:11pm adam:

Big Steve, you are right...those three bands were incredible that night. the Dolls reunion was very emotional and intense. But Iggy going on after the Strokes drunken trust-fund "rock" was night and day. I remember Iggy pulling down the dunkin donuts memorbilia and humping the track-mounted camera.
  2:14pm crankshaft:

some people get saved on sundays.....my salvation is this big ol' radio on tuesdays from 12-3:00!
  2:16pm Cecile:

you know I dig some rockers who are well adjusted people. But I also dig rockers whose only choices in life are rock, death or jail. I think Iggy falls in the latter category.
  2:18pm Garth:

I absolutely agree re: the Strokes at Randal's Island. That singer is pure douche.
  2:18pm dc pat:

well put Cecile. Those folks make our religion strong.
  2:19pm SmokinJ:

I agree. That's pathetic. I'll stick with rock/smoke/beer :)
  2:19pm Cynthia:

I think Iggy is more well adjusted/well rounded than we might think.... just very uninhibited (still)!! But whatever it is ... it works!
  2:21pm Cecile:

I think he is, too, cynthia, these days. He's also very erudite in his way. But man, he can cut loose when it's neccessary!
  2:21pm Doug from DC:

James Osterburg is well-adjusted. Iggy is a wild man.
  2:22pm Cecile:

thank you Doug in DC! you hit the nail on the head.
  2:23pm Cynthia:

Yes, he is indeed a great performer.
  2:24pm SmokinJ:

Fuckin' A Joe knows how to scratch that itch!
  2:25pm dc pat:

..but I think it's time for him to put a shirt on, that's just me though.
  2:31pm Das_Idiot:

We're smokin' our brains out here and it's Joe Belock's fault!
  2:36pm C:

there was a show on cnn a few weeks back where iggy did a tour of "his miami". i'm not sure if anyone else saw it, but if you cut away some of the corny production, it's a pretty interesting look at the city and the man.
  2:38pm ?:

Oh no way, the shirt remains off!
  2:43pm dc pat:

yeah I guess it wouldn't be right if he was dressed. Never mind.
  2:54pm Sean Daily:

Probably one of the last comments! Woo hoo!
  2:58pm steev:

peeeeeeeeeanut butter!!! countless uses!
  2:58pm ~L:

Peanut butter works well in mouse traps too, sorry I know that.
  2:59pm steev:

not as good as Nutella though.
  3:02pm Rubble:

Super show Joe!
  3:09pm steev:

any info on Keyboard Kathy or Cathy? just curious! tyvm
