It's all my fault, Liz

Ken:

Liz, if you keep crashing like Benjamen did, you can try replacing http://wfmu.org/ with this: http://216.118.106.242/
  12:12pm
still b/p:

Whewww Hoo...diagonalternative routes.
FWIW -- Couldn't browse to WFMU all morning via direct address, until I searched call letters and today's date, which gave me a link to Prof. Dum Dum's fresh overnight playlist, and from there I could follow the link to homepage. Many others probably fenced out as well by today's intergnarl.

Pointing out that someone is pretty lame is lame.

Wait... now I'm lame too... damn you Sean Daily!
  12:55pm
JT:

16th comment... I'm assuming this web problem is a DNS thing because using wfmu.org works just fine for me... as does using the IP address.
  12:55pm
~L:

Thanks for the magic numbers, Liz!!!
  12:58pm
Sean Daily:

(doing my best Emperor Palpatine) Yes, Bad Ronald, yes. You have fallen prey to my infernal machinations. Soon my plans to turn everyone on WFMU into a lame-o will be comm-PLEET.
  12:59pm
ProgRochier:

WFMU has the best web site of any indie station, even when it doesn't work!
  1:00pm
jaypee:

That internets, always letting everyone down.
  1:04pm
creeezzz:

oh LIZ!! It's making me so HAPPY!!
  1:09pm
Billy Jam:

heyLiz B - good show - loved the farm animals piece your friend did. Is there more stuff like that? ProgRochier - I totally concur with you about WFMU being the best site even on days when site is acting up. Sean Daily, you have run out of "WOO HOO" privileges. One per show and only for first comment.
  1:16pm
Liz B.:

Hi Billy Jam, and everyone else. Hope the internets have been behaving for you!
  1:25pm
detroitdave:

I cant get a live stream on win media player Liz!
  1:27pm
Liz B.:

Try this, Dave:
http://216.118.106.242/wfmu.asx
  1:40pm
detroitdave:

I have and I'm still bummin baby! Is this a proxy server address that I need to change?
  1:43pm
ProgRochier:

My stream & website is working fine, which is somewhat odd because I'm running RealPlayer11 on my linux machine at work...
  1:49pm
jon:

live streams fine here, but before all of WMFU.org was down for the count.
  1:58pm
Ike:

People still use RealPlayer?!? Yikes. For Linux, can't you use VLC Player? Plays more formats, yes?

I love noisy dub and crazy video-gamey music!
  1:59pm
jaypee:

OMG, Liz.. Studio 1! I swear the Kompakt label can do no wrong, thank you!!
  2:00pm
GP:

Hello Liz....all fine on the Southern Front with the exception of Winodoze Media Player...after Ike's suggestion went with Foobar and it is working fine on the 32k stream, etc. Show sounds good so far.
  2:03pm
ProgRochier:

Thanks, Ike - I will try VLC
  2:06pm
sebastian:

buenas tardes seƱorita liz. buenas tardes radioescuchas. bastante punchi punchi la cosa, por lo que oigo.
  2:11pm
GP:

Liz,
I keep expecting to hear your lovely voice over this Studio 1 track..doesn't one of FMU finest use this for "bumper" music? I know I have heard it somewhere before.
  2:13pm
stingy d:

towren!
  2:15pm
stingy d:

got any tugboat?
  2:16pm
detriotdave:

GP, I have foobar, but how did you connect to this stream?
  2:19pm
Ike:

In Foobar: File > Add Location > http://aacplus.wfmu.org

(or if you have enough bandwidth for 128k, then http://mp3stream.wfmu.org)
  2:20pm
tombom:

try http://216.118.106.243/
  2:20pm
GP:

DD,
What Ike said...thanks again Ike.
  2:21pm
Sean Daily:

So I gather that this Bertin song is about a videorecorder. It's a very subtle theme...
  2:29pm
detroitdave:

I put the address in new location and a pop up states "processing" but does not show activity and then disappears after 30 sec with no link to anything. Tried both http addresses. WTF??
  2:31pm
Ike:

Hmm, I'm not sure. Still some DNS propagation issues for a few hours maybe? But those streams never went down in the first place, did they?
  2:32pm
GP:

DD,
Try to click on the 32k MP3 tab in the "Listen LIve to WFMU" section at the top of the playlist. You'll probably get the std. Windows message "Open With?"...browse to the location of your Foobar.exe file and it should work. The next time you open a MP3 Stream your computer should remember to load it with Foobar.
  2:32pm
doron:

hey detroit dave: hows about trying the flash player off the home page? it will sound better than the windows stream
  2:37pm
detroitdave:

when i click the 32k mp3 tab it just wants to keep saving the pls file which i already have. does not try to "open with" and i also tried the flash player but it just states "loading" terminally. This morning the website would lock up explorer and finally that was corrected around noon but i cant get sound to save my ass!
  2:39pm
detroitdave:

funny thing is the archive files all play normal and open right up in media player
  2:42pm
GP:

Hmmm., I thonk I've reached the extent of my expertise (none) on Foobart. I don't know Detroit Dave. I tried the flash player off of the WFMU as Doron had recommended and that one is also working fine right now so that might be another option for you..
  2:45pm
GP:

It appears that I have also reached the limit of my spelling!
  2:46pm
detroitdave:

Thanks GP, but I did and it is no luck. Seems this problem occured today at the station due to some change that was made and 2 other computers here have the same problem with this website as mine does. Note to station: If it's not broke...dont f$#@ with it!
  2:47pm
tombom:

"The WFMU homepage, website, streams, archives and pretty much every dang thing web-related was unavailable Monday morning from around 8am on. The problem is now resolving itself, but it could take all day for everything to come back to life. (For those who speak geek, the problem was a DNS outage.) Sorry for the inconvenience. Boy, are we. " i don't think it was intentional
  2:55pm
Ike:

Yeah, I think they were forced to f$#@ with it when the DNS went kablooey. No other option.

Great show!
  2:58pm
detroitdave:

Well, it's better than the conspiricy theory going around that Sean Daily has stolen the stream and is holding it for payola to support his diabolical foul play.
  3:17pm
detroitdave:

Irene Trudells show after Liz's show works fine......... figures, I wanted Liz's show
  12:19pm
greg:

thanks so much for playing
put it in writing!
