annie:

second comment!!!
  9:08am
Ike:

I'm not much for clichés, so I won't say "woo hoo, first post" and "yee haw" doesn't seem to fit... hmmm... I'm at a loss. Too early.
  9:11am
Bad Ronald:

You missed it Ike with all your deliberation...

Yahoo!
  9:11am
annie:

poor little francie, smells bad already...
  9:12am
annie:

BR- oddly, i really thought i was going to be second, what with the long interval there..
  9:14am
Ike:

Yeah, we reversed ourselves somehow! It's my cat's fault.
  9:15am
BW:

good morning all - its good to be here - internets and all
  9:15am
detroitdave:

morning all, Hi Ben!
  9:24am

The DNS is overrated.
Long live them tubes!
  9:31am
annie:

  9:37am
Parq:

Notably, WFMU has also grown more beautiful and more strong.
  9:37am
/BW:

  9:42am

  10:01am

  10:27am
ratbone:

i missed everything but the words "hour and a half prog rock show". point me in that direction? thanks,r
  10:28am
Cecile:

Oh, don't get me started on Lost Highway. There's some great, great stuff. But they definitely have their biases - especially them ragging on Jim Reeves.

As for the commercial 50s stuff, my dad as a sh*tkicker to the manor born both enjoyed Jim Reeves AND Hank Thompson and Lefty Frizell.
Sh*kickers need make out music. too.

Annie - No, unfortunately.
I haven't even watched Zorba the Greek.
  10:29am
BSI:

yeh. what ratbone said.
  10:31am
annie:

  10:38am

I'm dizzy with stocking tops.
  10:40am
Wise Words:

"Enough cataloguing for today".
  10:49am
Coming Attractions:

"The Catalogue Girls!
...They know what goes where."
  10:50am
dr:

What's the DJ's twitter username?
  10:52am
Cecile:

focus group singer sounds like he copped Richard Thompson's vocal phrasing a little.
  10:52am
My new slogan:

"Here I come, world! This time you're going to regret it!"
  10:55am

Joe:

Wait, I got it now..
  11:31am
Joe:

  11:34am
Sean Daily:

That woman's lucky those tweezers didn't stick in her head...
  11:35am
Parq:

BW, you're completely right. I walk to work too, and I regularly give thanks for missing what I'm missing.
  11:35am
Bruce:

Tenth...avenue...tweeze-out...!
  11:36am
dc pat:

totally with you Liz B. To me it's the same thing as some one broadcasting their boring lives on a cell phone
  11:41am
Parq:

Pat, are there still places in urban America where you don't have to put up with that? Out of curiosity, I paid close attention while walking one day. In three blocks, on a busy lunchtime in midtown, the number of passers-by not holding cell phones to their ears or yaking into headsets could be counted on one hand.
  11:45am
BW:

parq - I noticed the same thing recently... and all I can say is just think how it will be when cell phones work on the subway!!!
  11:46am
C:

i can't wait. i kind of like hearing random conversations.
  11:48am
annie:

those people on cell phones? they're all calling stella!
  11:50am
cd pat:

yeah. Cell phones are people's tangible neuroses. I once watched a woman on the metro sit and look at her phone every 10 seconds on a 15 minute ride. What the fuck was she looking for??

C: but when the conversation is ALWAYS the following it drives one nuts:
"Hey. Yeah, I'm on the bus. No, I'm on the bus. Yeah, I'll be there in 10 minutes. Yeah, cool, ok...."
  11:51am
BW:

ok this week lets all pay attention.. and each post the best thing we hear next week.. can't wait
  11:52am
still b/p:

That's it?
Francine O' Connor -- Empress of the Anti-Climax.
  11:54am
Parq:

I agree with Still - that story ended as abruptly and prematurely as a Tom Wolf novel.

You got it, BW. I may even take notes. See ya next week.
  11:54am
dc pat:

BW: I already did. I mean why can't somebody for just once say something like. "While I was composing my 3rd string quartet last night, I had an epiphany about the relation between sub-atomic physics and Western music theory...and then I built a rocket out of toilet paper rolls, dish soap, and egg yolks...
  11:54am
annie:

i think the artist was just getting a kick out of drawing hot criminal-type chicks.
  11:56am
dc pat:

don't get me wrong, if I had a cell phone and used it on the bus, I'd sound just as stupid.
  11:57am
bw:

ok everyone. this will be fun! see you next week
