  8:12pm texas scott:

  8:12pm Sean Daily:

I'm not.
  8:13pm texas scott:

austin is like a 4 hour drive

  8:13pm stingy d:

  8:44pm texas scott:

any djs on the comments board?

  8:57pm Liz B.:

Hey everyone, thanks for listening! I'm in Austin and Prizehog was rawkin! I don't think I've had any vegetables since I left NY. Breakfast tacos are amazing!
  8:59pm bushwick studio:

thanks for making me feel 15 years younger!
live it up.
  8:59pm texas scott:

hey liz.make the most of your time in austin.
oh what fun...
  9:02pm Laurie:

Natalie Portman's Shaved Head are alright. Not as good as Gay for Johnny Depp, though.
  9:11pm bushwick studio:

got any more pictures? i'm projecting them on my wall.
  9:17pm diabolik:

XYX sounds great... like Lightning Bolt, but from Mexico...
  9:45pm joey:

man i wish i was there!! i doubt anyone there right now is reading this LOL but go check out NOT NOT FUN!!! at the Hideout too!
  10:02pm Jøe Steele:

The mere mention ofcomments draws me out to comment. Odd.
  10:03pm Peteski:

Great great.

ps. tell the djs that they're not fun raising anymore pleeeeeeeeese.
  10:03pm Jøe Steele:

I saw a different XYX about 4 years ago in Philly. They were not as badass... or Mexican.
  10:11pm Your comment here:

(No HTML, please)
  10:17pm Joe:

These guys just make me want to jump around punching things and being a big jerkface.
  10:21pm texas scott:

that's funny joe
  10:21pm Liz B.:

I know most of the members of the Mayyors from my CA days. Their singer, John, was in a hardcore band called Corpse Fucks Corpse. Need I say more? Pure spastic energy!
  10:22pm texas scott:

  10:26pm j:

mayyors rule it!!! are people moshing?
  10:26pm dave:

maybe it's just me, but every so often, the mayyors' singer seems to be channeling ian curtis.

and that's no bad thing.
  10:26pm diabolik:

So, this happened a while ago now, but it deserves a comment:

Random lady who wants to know when the Mayyors are going to play: "Do you guys work here?"
Scott: "No, we're on the radio."
  10:28pm texas scott:

yeah dave,i hear ian....eerie!
  10:29pm Joe:

Did she pat him on the head and say "Aw, that's special?"
  10:29pm texas scott:

  10:32pm diabolik:

I wasn't fully paying attention, but I think she continued to ask about the time and place of the Mayyors' impending set - seemingly oblivous to, or perhaps incredulous, of the fact that she, too, was on the radio.

That's what I call freeform!
  10:34pm texas scott:

she's just a little tipsy...
  10:35pm Laurie:

We like to call the J. Mascis look "The White Wizard," or Gandalf.
  10:35pm texas scott:

trent,fort worth in the house!
  10:37pm jenn:

XYX WAS AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!
  10:40pm dave:

"when did you arrive here in austin?"
"that's kind of a boring question".

  10:42pm Jøe Steele:

Just one reason why having drunk people (I assume) on the radio is awesome.
  10:43pm Mark Allen:

Brian Turner with a comments board on his playlist?!?! Only in Texas! I had seizure!!
To Brian, Scott, Liz, Trent, Ben and Daine: keep keepin' it UNSPEAKABLE in the most notorious state in the nation! KEEP PUSHING IT YOU FREAKS!!!
  10:44pm texas scott:

hey dave...always awesome
especially when they eat
  10:45pm texas scott:

i mean joe steele
  10:47pm Jøe Steele:

Agreed, Liz's taco sounded appetizing.
  10:49pm Laurie:

That's not Colleen from Baton Rouge, is it?
  10:49pm Joe:

What up Newton! My exgirlfriend's grandma used to live there. But now she's dead.
  10:49pm texas scott:

Austin...taco capitol of south central tx.
  10:50pm dave:

is there a region of texas that does not have a taco capitol?
  10:52pm Laurie:

It is CoKane!
  10:53pm texas scott:

too close to mexico
you can throw a rock in any direction in tx
and hit a taco stand
  10:58pm texas scott:

could you imagine someone living in austin and listening to this over the net, instead of actually being there?
  11:00pm Jøe Steele:

It's like me being 8 miles from Maxwell's and staying home and listening last weekend.
  11:01pm texas scott:

that's it,joe
  11:04pm texas scott:

to melt down; extract the impurities from by melting: to render fat.
  11:04pm texas scott:

to process, as for industrial use: to render livestock carcasses.
  11:06pm Joe:

How about "To play some bitchin' electric violin."

Maybe my OED is out of date.
  11:14pm dave:

i'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that any dictionary using the term "bitchin'" is out of date by approximately 25 years.

that said, it DOES take a long time to print something the size of the OED, so maybe it just took 'em a while to get your edition out.
  11:24pm Mike:

c'mon, i use "bitchin" all the time. it's almost as cool as "stoked" or "rad"
  11:25pm Brian Turner:

celeb sightings - Kig Coffey, Rat Bastard, some dumbass Captain Morgans promotional pirate running around throwing shit at everyone in the Absu crowd
  11:27pm Jøe Steele:

And yet the pirate is the only one I've heard of.
  11:29pm Joe:

Please knock him out if he starts doing that stupid pose.

C'mon, Steele, you never heard of the Hugh Beaumont Experience? Oh yeah and he was in some other crazy acid band too. From Texas.
  11:31pm Jøe Steele:

I've lead a sheltered PA/NJ life. : (
  11:32pm rob:

The Renderers are a symphony of chaos. My radio is dripping blood.
  11:36pm Jøe Steele:

This is exceedingly awesome.
  11:42pm Joe:

  11:43pm dave:

aaand, the renderers continue the evening's theme by channeling patti smith.

and what joe said.
  11:44pm texas scott:

  11:46pm dave:

that too.
  11:49pm dave:

  11:51pm Jøe Steele:

[Lights cigarette]
  11:52pm Joe:

I know they're from NZ, but please tell me these folks are playing New York or Philly soon. Please.
  11:57pm Jøe Steele:

Gonna need to be more specific about that YouTube thing.
  11:59pm Jøe Steele:

oh wait, I think I found it:

  12:08am joey:

Redriver is where i saw everyone from ed hall, melvins, charalambides, harry pussy, sebedoh and the list can go on and on..man i wish i was there! (just responding to the redriver"road" thing the guys were talkin bout)
  12:15am Jøe Steele:

Are we gonna have to have another fundraiser to pay all the S-word fines?
  12:21am bryce:

happiness oven!
  12:21am Liz B.:

We are actually in safe harbor hours now, so a limited number of non-sexual fucks and non-excretory shits are ok.
  12:24am Jøe Steele:

Fuck yeah.
  12:27am texas scott:

FUCK...this is the SHIT!!!
  12:29am texas scott:

beautiful vittles in the OVEN
  12:34am Joe:

Froberg's got a rather familiar grain in his voice here... never heard him sing live before... I'd probably be a little too opimistic to hope for a Jehu tune...
  12:43am sj:

Anyone from WFMU getting sleepy yet? Keep an eye out for bats!
  12:47am craig:

probably the first sxsw show i regret missing in well over a decade.
  12:49am trent:

eyelids getting heavy with pizza and shiner bock but rock keping us all awake
  12:50am texas scott:

TRENT! have another.
  12:53am sj:

the lone star is nothing to sneeze at either...maybe more of a morning beer....let us know.
  12:54am craig:

shiner and lone star are sh*tty beers - go find a live oak!
  1:00am texas scott:

SHINA...only way to roll!!!
  1:13am ?:

to introduce as an element or detail into a connected whole (usually fol. by in or into)
the terminal, prehensile part of the upper limb in humans and other primates, consisting of the wrist, metacarpal area, fingers, and thumb.
  1:18am craig:

scott, shiner used to be decent, until corona bought em out. never tasted the same since, and i used to have 6packs mailed to me in nyc!

ps - why is woven hand channeling jim morrison? the ian curtis thang was cooler.
  1:21am texas scott:

yer right,craig
shiner was good back in the day, maybe 10 years ago
what do you import now?
  1:22am brycepunk:

I am really enjoying Woven Hand. Great broadcast tonight. And good sound for a live broadcast. Is this soundboard?
  1:27am craig:

i wish i could get my friends to send me live oak, but they don't bottle afaik. plus, i live in portland or now, so beer is good. now, some difara's or totonnos coney island pizza, or a good show like this sxsw gig, THOSE i wish someone would send me!
  1:27am joey:

i want thank you so much for broadcasting this show tonight!!! awesome work and i hope you archive it!
  1:28am Liz B.:

Thanks, it's soundboard + a little tweaking by Trent, Scott, and Diane.
  1:29am Liz B.:

We'll archive as much of this as possible (pending band permissions).
  1:29am joey:

intense, whom ever is play'n right now..blowin me away
  1:30am texas scott:

hey liz b,got anymore pics?
  1:33am Liz B.:

We're trying to take more but the crowd is a little thick...
  1:39am texas scott:

great sound btw
  1:40am craig:

thanks for broadcasting this set; i've been havin' a blast.
  1:44am Doctor B.:

WFMU goes to Texas. This harkens back to the golden age of FM rock radio, the early to mid-1970's, when stations would simulcast concerts pretty much verbatim and without the absurd amount of corporate sponsorship we see today!
  1:58am Ken From Hyde Park:

How can music be this cool? This is great...awesome!
  4:06pm Sally:

Having trouble listening to the Major Stars.
  8:20am Mark P:

I think your showcase would've been worth the trip. Man the mayyors are something else!
  3:16am kevin johnson:

just saw the mayyors play in the lounge of a west sacramento bowling alley - the whole band is fucking dangerous...legends waiting to happen.
