Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from February 26, 2010 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

bartleby:

Hi Bryce, pleased to meet you, I'm a pangolin. I mean an armadillo, no wait aardvark, or is it, wait a minute, a kiwi? No, no - an echidna, that's it -- Pleased to meet you I'm an echidna.
  12:12pm
Ike:

Howdy, Brycedron 3000. Excellent sounds so far. How's that PATH train in all this white fluff? Or did you have to go via burro?
  12:14pm
north guinea hills:

the echidnas were a decent space rock band on kranky recs back in the late 90s, oh wait, they were called the spiny anteaters, which is another name for the egg-laying mammal.
  12:14pm
J-Mar:

Awesome show so far. I tell ya, I tune in some days, and it's like you have intuited the racket inside my head.
  12:20pm
bryce:

hey, allllll

running up and down two flights of stairs today....shoulda brought the shuvosaurus
  12:24pm
north guinea hills:

for all of you nanoacousticians out there, here's a beeb link w/ a microrecording of brownian motion: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/8529232.stm
  12:26pm
numbatwombat:

thx bryce! l love the nazgul! such a groovy jam!
  12:27pm
BillyJam:

hey Bryce - as Ike asked how is that PATH train today? Any updates on travel for me to know about before my snowbound trek to Jersey City? Thanks!
  12:27pm
Chris:

how weird, i just read something this morning that left me wondering what 'beeb' means...bbc, that makes sense - pretty cosmic.
  12:28pm
bryce:

BRING A PIECE
  12:30pm
Hugo:

Kråkorna sejer kra kra!
  12:30pm
Mark:

Thanks for the Åke Hodell Bryce... Wonderful.
  12:33pm
Not clear on the concept:

I like echidnas, especially the kind with black beans.
  12:33pm
bryce:

ngh, wowow — thx for the beebsicle

kra kraaaaaaaa
  12:39pm
Chris:

yeah, that recording is pretty cool, it reminds me of my auscultation of heart sounds lp
  12:40pm
north guinea hills:

ake hodell!
  12:41pm
?:

auscultation! there must be some henri chopin in the library....
  12:44pm
Hugo:

Not quite "Ferry cross the Mersey", this one ...
  12:46pm
Ike:

I wonder how much time Åke spent in the underworld to get a good recording at the Styx?
  12:49pm
bryce:

KRAAAAAAAA
  12:49pm
numbatwombat:

other-dimensional field recording can be both tricky and time-consuming!
  12:52pm
Chris:

is KRAAAAAAAA! the sound one makes when they reach the top or the bottom of the stairs?
  12:54pm
north guinea hills:

ake probably had some helping reaching the styx w/ his good friend mr. roboto.
  12:55pm
bartelby:

I think it's when you get to the end of staircase and step like there is going to be one more step but there isn't one
  12:56pm
Chris:

...then bryce returns from that abyss with another tune.
  12:58pm
Hugo:

The abyss can be abysmal ...
  1:01pm
bartelby:

wow this is good
  1:03pm
Chris:

...especially after eating Ethiopian food from the Abyssinia Market.
  1:05pm
bartleby:

there's a place by me that's been there for a few years now called Dunkin Donuts.
  1:09pm
BSI:

Checking in after an hour-long bath in a deep bowl of curry gluten. What's the haps?
  1:11pm
bryce:

we already switched to millet jelly
  1:22pm
jk:

hey Bryce, are you making a premium this year?
  1:27pm
annie:

i have beef stew meat, curry powders and pastes, carrots, potatoes. what's for dinner folks? how do i put this all together? can i just add water?
  1:28pm
bryce:

yeph!

it's a surprise! tho, perhaps not as surprising as "last year's" premium.

NOTE: the packaging is *still* yet to be mailed. (things are caught up with marathon goings-on)

this year, machine-made packaging, oy
  1:29pm
bryce:

annie, sounds like massaman
  1:30pm
jk:

excellent! I'll use the write in blank on my mouse pledge form.
I'm still thrilling to the sounds of last months premium
  1:32pm
BSI:

Bryce, don't trust the machines! I thought we discussed this!
  1:33pm
Chris:

annie - take the meat and place it under the saddle of your horse for about a day to warm it then in the evening add to the pot cooking in the yurt.
  1:35pm
annie:

bryce i knew you would chirp up; can i use regular milk? no coconut milk,.... ! . chris: sounds good, but the horse just ran away.
  1:36pm
bryce:

bsi, you are too emotional to carry a dialogue at this time.
  1:38pm
Cecile:

I'd chop up everything. brown the meat, then get some color on the carrots and potatoes. Do you have some onion and garlic? Put them in.

Season generously, let cook a bit more, put in tomato paste and water and bring to the boil. Then put in a 250 degree oven for like 2-3 hours.
  1:40pm
bartelby:

I can't even tell you how much this improves my state of mind while toiling away for the milk crate industrial complex
  1:42pm
Jed:

spare change for a lobotomy?
  1:43pm
BSI:

it's the curry gluten, man, we're gonna need golf shoes to get outta here.
  1:43pm
Parq:

@Chris, 1:26: "Pot Cooking In the Yurt" would be a good name for a play.
  1:46pm
@ parq:

Or a child -
  1:47pm
Chris:

It would Parq. Smoking pot in the yurt would be fun as well.
  1:49pm
annie:

aahhlrighty then, i have an idea for the beef! thanks for the suggestions.. now to find that pot....
  1:52pm
annie:

hey parq, i'm not sure if you saw the link to my son's new documentary about caffeine addiction, but i just talked to him.. he said it's halfway done and it's a serious piece. i think that's cool..
  1:55pm
josh:

what is this cool callipoe-ish stuff? I love it!
  1:56pm
josh:

g_d.. i meant 'calliope'... i guess i'd better just look at the accuplaylist to my left.
  2:02pm
Parq:

Ditto to the mass praise for this wonderfully strange calliope music.
  2:05pm
Goldrush:

Good stuff, dude. I enjoyed the Ake Hodell, too. Now for the polenta muffins with fig preserves....
  2:23pm
Carmichael:

Hiya Bryce, just made it back here from California. Boy are my arms tired.

I'm reading a book on Tannu Tuva and thought of you. Can we have some hoomei singing next week? I know even fmu library is a little scarce in that particular tab.
  2:29pm
bryce:

YES! i finally built the C4 piñata and vacuumed up the cd slivers that fell within 1,250 ft. of my storage area. first time i've seen them in 2 years.

can't be during the next two weeks (MARATHON), but
after that!
  2:32pm
Carmichael:

Well that's damn close to a mouse pledge, if you catch the nib of my gist. During the marathon is the penultimate answer, but this isn't freakin' jeopardy for chrissakes.
  2:42pm
annie:

i'm getting to know the sound of astor piazolla from two rooms away!!
  2:44pm
bryce:

i love him! (some more traditional tango folk don't, but that community's super diverse...)

his late 60s/70s stuff is especially warpo!
  2:50pm
J-Mar:

Hey! I'm pretty sure the orchestra I work for just recorded this piece -- it's part of Los Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas, right?
  2:52pm
annie:

i only got turned on to him about ten years ago... but man.. does it ring true..
  2:53pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I'm getting turned on now.
  2:54pm
herr noiser:

i was craving morricone for some reason during the piazzola set - mind read!
  2:55pm
bryce:

ding!

j-mar, wow yeah that's right! what orchestra do you work for??
  2:59pm
bryce:

whoopsies! gots ta gooooo

see y'all
  11:19am
blubberhead and hutch:
