Familiar & forgotten gems from 50-plus years of music on the darker side, shoegaze, synthpop, goth, psychedelia, darkwave, with unapologetic detours into 70s pop. In a dark night of the soul, it's always 3 o'clock in the morning.

  3:38am
Julie:

Always wanted to play Smiths and Sundays next to each other.
  3:41am
ausmanx:

Surely if your life is a Scandinavian artifact, it's a Strindberg play, Miss Julie? Hah. A fine array of cultural references from the web folk today, but I'm hoping I'm the only listener who's actually BEEN to Liechtenstein. It's a very cool place, with a global dominance in synthetic sausage skins and philatelic accessories, I believe. There is no actual border, but you can get your passport stamped at the castle. Now I suppose someone's going to log on and say they're LISTENING in Liechtenstein...
  3:43am
Julie:

I love that WFMU listeners can make Strindberg references
  3:44am
coalhard:

for aminute there i thought a volcano sploded
  3:45am
Matt from Springfield:

@ausmanx: My parents went to Liechtenstein when they were living in Germany. Where were you traveling when you stopped by--from where, to where?
  3:46am
Matt from Springfield:

I'll help ya out for the first song:
"Airb-en fon showff-uung"
  3:47am
Matt from Springfield:

= "Inheritors of Creation"
  3:48am
ausmanx:

from switzerland, out of zurich. there isn't a railway there, you gotta catch the bus! i always support them when the football team plays, but they always lose. they win some skiing stuff though. when we arrived, the hotel was closed because they were having a "quiet day". we had to yell at the windows to get the door opened...
  3:50am
Matt from Springfield:

Good job, I meant more like "Air" but we already realized the futility of IPA and phonetic instructions on a recent Surface Noise.
  3:51am
Julie:

thanks for trying, Matt!
  3:52am
Matt from Springfield:

@Julie: German student in high school, glad to help whenever I'm on.

  4:27am
Matt from Springfield:

I don't like how you can't get into thick leather boots in the snow myself. So many Snowmageddons up there! It's looking icy and terrible to walk outside in VA, but no snow laying here.
  4:55am
Julie:

@Matt Different artists! Great series!
@Kostas I'm blushing now!
  4:57am
Matt from Springfield:
