Adam in Portland:

Hey, Julie! Just finished re-watching Crumb for the first time in over 10 years.) Now, for something a bit less grim. ;-)
  3:03am
Julie:

Thank you!
  3:04am
Van:

Morning Julie, mark, my fellow Toyah fans :)
  3:05am
Adam in Portland:

I LOVED that experiment, gone all wobbly, with Fabio and Clay. My face hurt from all the chuckling. Terribly fun show.
  3:06am
DJ TM5 / Pete:)_:

:)
  3:07am
Julie:

Good morning folks! @Adam that was a blast! Tonight's show will be less grim. Toyah interview coming up, more TW music, and some of her faves.
  3:07am
listener mark:

yes ! Julie, Fabio, and Clay ! What a great time!

"Great show dumbasses" -- Ken
  3:09am
pierre:

Bonjour Julie !

:' )

Bonjour all listeners extraordinaires !
  3:09am
Adam in Portland:

@Julie, ahhh, it's alright either way. I love grim as well, but I'm thinking about poor Charles Crumb. On an unrelated note: what do you think of the band Silverfish? Familiar?
  3:10am
Adam in Portland:

Hello, all, and all to come! :-)
  3:15am
Howard in Portland, OR:

Thank you for the TOYAH interview, Julie! Back in the '80s I was in the 'North American Toyah Fan Club,' run by some guy in Connecticut (I think). I wish I still had some of those newsletters!
  3:16am
Julie:

I hope you can hear it. It sounds a bit quiet but I've got it all the way up.
  3:17am
Van:

Coming through great Julie, and many thanks! Happy Birthday Toyah!
  3:20am
Danne D:

Hey Julie :) Sacking out now, but will catch the archive. Have a great show :) Looks like you have great company for your overnight journey!
  3:21am
Adam in Portland:

Julie, the comfortability you and Toyah seem to have established in talking with one another is making this interview such a bright pleasure.
  3:22am
DJ TM5 / Pete:)_:

Hey little sister what have you done?
  3:22am
Julie:

@Adam it's like talking to a friend!
  3:22am
Adam in Portland:

Night, Danne D! Great to see you about these parts for a moment.
  3:23am
Van:

A little royal wedding music...? ;)
  3:23am
Julie:

Yep!
  3:23am
Adam in Portland:

Steve Stevens had fantastic 80's hair.
  3:25am
Van:

If Toyah and Kate were to do a project together, *I* would fall through the floor!!
  3:27am
pierre:

cool looking forward for the interview part.2
  3:27am
Julie:

@Van Hell yeah!

  3:35am
Julie:

@Jay sit back and relax now
  3:37am
jaycjay:

Thanks Julie, and I'll leisurely catch the first half hour once the archive is up.
  3:37am
Adam in Portland:

I think a collaboration between Toyah and Baby Dee could prove well worthwhile.
  3:38am
Van:

Kate! Love this song
  3:40am
pierre:

@Julie, the thing i like here, is that i'm almost sure to hear Kate Bush, almost every week.
  3:42am
Julie:

@Pierre I had to keep myself from asking Toyah to give me her contact info!
  3:42am
Van:

I see what you're doing here Julie in this set: The Bowie, the early Kate, the current Roxie...all were most certainly early influential works on Toyah
  3:43am
Julie:

:)
  3:46am
Van:

This is my first time listening live to your show Julie. Couldn't miss a Toyahspectacular :)
  3:51am
pierre:

i know what your going through, i cannot keep myself from asking things to my favourite fmu djs. : )
  3:51am
Julie:

@Van Me either!
  3:59am
jaycjay:

FYI all: The 1979 version of The Tempest, featuring Toyah as Prospero's daughter, is available for streaming on Netflix.
  4:00am
Julie:

Yes I need to watch that!
  4:01am
Van:

shot! shot! shot! :)
  4:01am
Julie:

Are we doing our "that's terrific" shots?
  4:01am
Van:

yep! with beer though :)
  4:01am
Julie:

Seriously! Jules needs something else to say.
  4:22am
DJ TM5 / Pete:

Julie, I have been tuning in since 3 and am enjoying the show. I am working online and the music is in the background
  4:23am
siggi:

listening in as always....best regards an icelander in sweden
  4:23am
pierre:

that's strange, because "Dark night of the soul" is happening in the morning, with a breakfast mood for me (as well as everyone in europe, mostly) / This said, i ttally see how it would fit well during the middle of the night, but it suit my morning very well.
  4:23am
Julie:

@Pete thank you! Very different show this week
  4:24am
Julie:

I did the interview first thing in the morning, oh man,..so not a morning girl
  4:25am
Julie:

@siggi welcome!
  4:26am
Marmalade Kitty:

It's not possible to speak of PJ Harvey with any credibility when you have conceded to liking Elton John Lady Gaga
  4:27am
Andrea on the M62:

Ah tori pj and now just need a bit of bjork! Then I'm back to being 16 again!
  4:27am
Julie:

LOL MK...you might want to hide soon then
  4:27am
pierre:

yeah, timeline differences : )
  4:28am
helsingfred:

G'morning from Helsinki! World Hockey Championship hangover! This is ROCKING more more more more
  4:28am
Julie:

Good morning HF!
  4:29am
Julie:

I must look this up, do you suppose that is Fripp?
  4:29am
DJ TM5 / Pete:

reminds me of Robin Trower
  4:30am
Julie:

Trower? Isn't that one of Clay Pigeon's guys
  4:36am
Julie:

Oh wow..Gaga scared everyone away. Toyah loved her, I figured I'd give her a chance with a non-hit..but still..meh
  4:37am
jaycjay:

Heh... I think Clay does play Trower at times. But if you mean the Kiss of Reallity track, it's neither Fripp nor Trower... they were a German prog band.
  4:37am
helsingfred:

I keep reading that Alison G is like the worst person to work with in the whole biz... but the sound!...
  4:37am
jaycjay:

That's OK, you recovered from the Gaga quickly with a Goldfrapp.
  4:38am
Julie:

@Jay thanks! I think Clay played Trower on Thurs but not sure.
  4:39am
jaycjay:

Yeah I think he tossed in a trower during that... whatever that was on Thursday. Not sure if he does so regularly though.
  4:39am
Van:

Gaga - meh to me too. Goldfrapp - new to me...sounds nice though. And not Fripp, looks like it was David Pittaway I guess
  4:40am
Julie:

@Van that was some seriously awesome playing there
  4:40am
stump:

not a GaGa fan at all ..but this song surprized me.
  4:41am
Julie:

@stump yeah it was the most palatable thing on the CD
  4:43am
helsingfred:

elton john omfg we're all gonna die...
  4:43am
Julie:

@HF gots to get the EJ in before the rapture
  4:43am
jaycjay:

Toyah's given me enough enjoyment over the years... I won't hold her "guilty pleasures" against her.
  4:46am
Van:

Enjoyed the Tori Amos (and yes I'm a guy and no not gay)...been a fan for years. PJ Harvey as well.
  4:47am
helsingfred:

oh yeah the world ends on Saturday! take us out, julie!
  4:49am
Van:

Lady or the Tiger was a trick question. Toyah IS the tiger (from the Lion's mane to the Tiger's claw) ;)
  4:51am
Julie:

I love it "Long hard slog!"
  4:52am
pierre:

where about in France ?
(arhh its to late to ask…)
  4:54am
Van:

Awesome!! Toyah in the US!? ABOUT TIME!!
  4:54am
helsingfred:

world champs! death to sweden! :-D
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=8919461&l=70b6528ba7&id=583353884
  4:54am
Julie:

  4:54am
pierre:

oh that is so nice to say !
  4:56am
helsingfred:

Estonia is cool
  4:58am
Van:

lol Julie, I feel now like maybe 1.5 degrees of separation from Toyah...thanks ;)
  5:00am
Julie:

I found out that dave mandl interviewed she & fripp in 1991 back in East Orange! Live in studio...sigh
  5:01am
Marmalade Kitty:

Just read this excerpt fom a rag uk tabloid, Toyah interview speaking of her school days; "One day Margaret Thatcher, then the education minister, came to give a speech, and I set five alarm clocks to go off under the stage at three-minute intervals while she spoke.
She hardly faltered, but when it happened the whole audience turned and looked at me. "

lol, sounds like something I would have found amusing when I was at school!
  5:04am
Julie:

Oh man that's funny. little troublemaker
  5:04am
jaycjay:

Nice... I was hoping you'd get to some King Crimson!
  5:04am
Van:

Don't worry Julie...you'll get Toyah live around September :) @MK - that is hilarious :)
  5:04am
DJ TM5 / Pete:

OMG!!!!! KUDOS for the Crimson
  5:08am
Van:

Any requests tonight Julie? If so...Blue Meanings and/or Ieya? Or The Vow? Or Love is the Law? :)
  5:09am
Julie:

Hmm Van I didn't bring everything with me, sorry. If I can fit something in I'll see what's on my best of
  5:12am
Marmalade Kitty:

the excerpt was from www.dailymail online
  5:12am
Van:

Outstanding set so far, just awesome
  5:13am
Julie:

  5:16am
Robert:

Wow, a song by Toyah that I don't hate! That was unexpected.
  5:16am
Van:

YAY!!!! Thanks!! :)
  5:16am
Julie:

Wow Robert this must be torture for you.
  5:20am
Robert:

I'll be honest, I'm looking forward to hearing something other than Toyah.
  5:20am
Van:

@Robert - this week you're outvoted...sorry ;)
  5:21am
stump:

sorry Julie but I kinda agree with Robert
  5:23am
Van:

Angels & Demons - The Chosen Ones, forever :)
  5:24am
Julie:

I played a bunch of stuff that wasn't her, but sorry, that's the focus tonight. More normal show next week.
  5:26am
maja:

It is such great radio! A classic show!
  5:27am
Julie:

I overdid it, but 30 years of music
  5:27am
Van:

yes and her brick went up right by Robert's I think
  5:28am
stump:

No matter I still LOVE your show
  5:29am
Julie:

Thank you, Stump :)
  5:29am
Van:

Greatest Show Ever IMHO, and many thanks...I don't think you overdid it at all. The point was to celebrate Toyah and her birthday after all :)

  5:39am
Julie:

@Andrea & @Van thank you!
  5:39am
Julie:

@MK that sounds really funny
  5:43am
Marmalade Kitty:

or was that talking to the wall? Hmm! I remember Toyah on top of the pops - uk music chart weekly show; live but mimed! I was very young, 7 or something! I was impressed by her hair more than anything
  5:44am
Robert:

  5:44am
Julie:
