Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Listener comments!

  6:07pm
Clay:

Hello. Here.
  6:08pm
Matt from Springfield:

Ed Schulz--another Dusty Celeb street interview.
  6:08pm
Cecile:

Gotta run, Clay.
I'll catch you on archives! Have a great show.
  6:09pm
Clay:

Thanks Cecile. Hi Matt.
  6:10pm
Clay:

I forgot to play my opening song.
  6:10pm
Night Al:

We had a protest here in Tampa today. I'm watching the news coverage now. Seems to be kinda small and pretty much over with now.
  6:11pm
glenn:

i still think it should be called occupytober.
  6:12pm
dale:

i think the protesters should show up with a cauldron of tar and some sacks of feathers.
  6:13pm
Matt from Springfield:

Shock And Occupytober.

"W-F-M-U-iluyah!!!" OMFG yes!!! Go Evangelical Protester!!
  6:13pm
Clay:

Haha Dale!
  6:13pm
david:

The one and only Reverend Billy
  6:14pm
Ike:

We love Rev. Billy!
  6:15pm
Stats:

Average CEO to worker salary ratio in Japan is 11:1

USA is 475:1
  6:15pm
glenn:

i'm gonna assume it's not the reverend billy gibbons.
  6:16pm
kata:

portland OR police reporting 4-5K people marching downtown currently
  6:16pm
david:

@Stats check out top 10 countries that have the death penalty
  6:17pm
Clay:

Go Portland!
  6:17pm
Night Al:

Jobs died
  6:18pm
dale:

i was afraid all of this was going to peter out quite quickly. glad it's building momentum. thanks for sharing it clay! bloomburg and obama have been oddly silent on all this.
  6:19pm
Matt from Springfield:

"Take our country back" -- the Tea Party has totally ruined that phrase for me. Take America AWAY from whom? A cry without any baggage for me would probably be "Justice for the 99% -- Fair Share!"
  6:19pm
Matt from Springfield:

Even the 1% have a voice--it just shouldn't preempt the other 99.
  6:20pm
phillip:

YES! Rev. Billy is great!
  6:21pm
Clay:

Excuse rough editing. Got this audio yesterday.
  6:21pm
Matt from Springfield:

Or THIS guy's cry!
"We're tired of these SONS of BITCHES"!!!
  6:22pm
glenn:

yep. greedy sons of bitches. that pretty much hits the nail on the head.
  6:23pm
Night Al:

Hey Wall Street, greed is NOT good!
  6:25pm
dale:

i think it's pronounced 'sum bitches.'
  6:26pm
Matt from Springfield:

@dale It's a tricky one: "sunuvabitches" is my preferred one, at least you can just add an s when it's one word.
  6:29pm
Matt from Springfield:

Wow, HUAC protest veteran--he goes back far.
  6:30pm
Night Al:

This protest is great but change will only happen at the polls. If you don't vote and vote for Dennis Kucinich, you are part of the problem. Go to his website and read his stance on issues. If you don't agree with everyone, YOU are part of the problem. The rest of the politicians are corporate schills. His wife Elizabeth is great also. http://kucinich.us/

TY GLenn!
  6:34pm

  6:34pm
glenn:

there's a ustream link to live video there, as well.
  6:35pm
Clay:

Good David. Thanks Glenn.
  6:35pm
Matt from Springfield:

This is an invigorating show, Clay! Like a good documentary on the 60s--you were on this from the beginning, and you have preserved a vital scene of history. Excellent job!
  6:36pm
dale:

don't know if it's the show fomenting me up in a lather or the vodka i'm drinking, but i just pledged $50 to the dusty show!
  6:37pm
glenn:

lathery vodka. yummy.
  6:38pm
Clay:

Dale. Thanks a lot!
  6:38pm
Night Al:

NAFTA, WTO, and the current FTA with South Korea, Colombia, and Panama are job killers for Americans. Ross Perot warned us of this years ago. Keep American jobs in America! Ban outsourcing.
  6:40pm
Clay:

Vote for song after taped segment. Andy Williams or Robin Trower.
  6:40pm
glenn:

i agree about nafta, but without canadian oil, the u.s.a would be in trouble.
  6:40pm
glenn:

how about robin williams?
  6:41pm
Matt from Springfield:

Trower.
  6:42pm
david:

andy williams
  6:42pm
Night Al:

Hey Glenn, OIL is killing the lanet. Watch a documentary called HOME narated by Glenn Close.
  6:42pm
dale:

nothing else like it on the airwaves. gotta support dusty. i have a nice version of andy doing the partridge fambly's 'i think i love you.' he's got that sleepy boozy delivery that just makes it great. remember the russian guy in the bear suit on his tv show?
  6:44pm
Night Al:

Trower Bridge Of Sighs...
  6:44pm
Clay:

Andy did some great sessions with Richard Perry. Always thought he was underrated. (Currently rated #756). orn in Wall Lake, Iowa.
  6:44pm
glenn:

i'm not disagreeing. BUT, until there's another source of energy, the u.s.a. needs our oil. and if the price of keeping jobs in america is access to it, well, somethings gotta give.
  6:45pm
dale:

at least this guy isn't in the nazi party
  6:47pm
Night Al:

Gotta bring back Protectionism Glenn, Tariffs on imports exports. There ARE alternatives to oil. Go to PopularScience.com. Corporations won't allow it.
  6:47pm
glenn:

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.
John Kenneth Galbraith
  6:47pm
dale:

..thank god claudine longet didn't blow andy away.
  6:48pm
Clay:

True, Dale. RIP Spider
  6:48pm
Clay:

Tied 2-2
  6:48pm
Ike:

This is a really good show today! But asking me to choose between Andy Williams and Robin Trower is like asking me to choose between being boiled in (non-Canadian) oil or having my eyes eaten by an angry honey badger.

  6:50pm

I'm an Aries--I'm not an optimist!
Not to say I never ever think of the bright side, but I'm very realist and easily impatient.
  6:50pm
Clay:

Nyet comrade.
  6:51pm
glenn:

i vote for trower.
  6:51pm
Matt from Springfield:

@glenn: The Cruller doesn't GIVE a shit!
  6:51pm
dale:

today was the first time i saw any sort of police 'brutality' on the evening news. i want to know why this is getting so LITTLE coverage in national media.
  6:52pm
Clay:

It was 3-3 I am the tiebreakerer.
  6:52pm

  6:54pm
Night Al:

Hey Dale, who do you think owns the airwaves? WALLSTREET!
  6:54pm
david:

yes Andy won!
  6:54pm
Ike:

Andy Williams is not as bad as I thought. It merely made me nauseous instead of causing me to evacuate all of my bodily fluids at once.
  6:54pm
wiki:

It was written for the 1966 film of the same name and won an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
  6:54pm
kata:

ha, Matt I'm an Aries too and that comment was a crackup for me. Impatient, and does everything the hardest way possible. Bossy. But also visionary and exploratory.
  6:55pm
Matt from Springfield:

It was in the moment! It was invigorating, it was awesome! This is why I keep supporting Clay Pigeon, and WFMU!
  6:55pm
dale:

  6:59pm
