  12:09pm Cecile:

right on, PFF. Hi, all!
  12:13pm michael and birgit:

What the hell, Brimstones , go on...

Greetings from Germany
  12:13pm PFFlyer:

Last "corperate" effort today was trying to deal w/ a major computer company to purchase a "computer" via an employee purchase plan for employees. WASTED TIME! No dimes were spent, or made. Sheesh, you'd think the recession was really over. Meanwhile, back in reality land...where the music is always good....thanks Joe.
  12:14pm Mike East:

What year is that Brimstones from? I have an old 7" of theirs and it is WAY more lofi than that. I really dug that track!
  12:16pm rumboon:

Just discovered your show and enjoying it.
Cheers from Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
  12:18pm PFFlyer:

  12:39pm KevinWho:

Queers AV and LO tore me a new one---3 great rekkids in a row
  12:39pm KevinWho:

wow, never heard that version of Let Go either, awesome
  12:40pm Joe B:

Live Ones on the show in two weeks!
  12:42pm Cecile:

Seriously, I thought that it was a Replacements bootleg from a coherent show.
  12:43pm Cecile:

you are loving the 101ers of late. They are great.
  12:44pm dc pat:

yeah, great to hear 101ers but the Clash version of this tune is one of my all time fave tunes...
  12:45pm Joe B:

somehow I never got around to filing this CD about 6 months ago, always in plain view as I stumble out the door thursday mornings!
  12:53pm PFFlyer:

I like to share what you share what she shared that he was sharin' about the blasted RoCkin' Rollah' AyaTowlah happenin' known as WFMU's 3 Chord Monte via that new fangled device known as ..."Facebook". Sssshhh. Don't tell anyone else, or they might listen! "I’m hip about time.
It’s a conspiracy, man.
It’s not every man who can live off the land. You do
your own thing in your own time. You should be proud.-Captain America"
  12:54pm John L:

The Fadeways are playing in New Paltz, of all places, on Nov 8, with Thee Bat.
  12:55pm Joe B:

Thee Bat also from Japan!
  12:56pm dc pat:

  1:08pm dc pat:

  1:12pm PFFlyer:

  1:24pm Anna Anabolic:

Joe - you're welcome - thanks for all the awesome music every week!
  1:30pm Jeff In Hawaii:

Aloha Joe - sounds great in the rural
  1:30pm Minnesota Jeff:

Wow, I am loving this jangley mess of "I Fought the Law"! Is "King Uszniewicz vs. South Bay Surfers" a 7 inch on norton, or an LP?
  1:31pm PFFlyer:

I see that there is no label attributed to " Going Down to..." off the Jail Bait album. This might help for anyone interested: http://www.shazam.com/music/web/track?id=47701216# Seems that demand exceeded production so there is some sort of record production change from Fortune to Epic Records. Nuff said; South Bay was co-written by Jardine, who is from Ohio or so "they" say....so what did he know about catchin' a wave anyway? Might as well cash in on the Trashmen and surf a wave on Calhoun or Superior. Yeah, that last comment was sarcastic.
  1:31pm Droll:

Picture perfect butchering of "I Fought the Law"! I think they really mean it. Obviously the laws didn't include some kind of practice or lessons.
  1:32pm Jeff In Hawaii:

Aloha Joe - sounds great this morning in the rural
  1:32pm Joe B:

i think any reissues of Fortune material are unofficial but I could be wrong
  1:33pm Jeff In Hawaii:

...and rainy jungle of Puna
  1:33pm PFFlyer:

oh....how droll. Practice makes perfect? Yeah, right. JB, thanks for "direction".
  1:39pm PFFlyer:

Thanks for the relief back to talent....Jackie is such a cool name, doncha' think? The sound backs up the name.
  1:47pm John L:

There is a pretty new Andre Williams reissue, called Mr. Rhythm Is Moving, It's on the Hoo Doo label, and has "Tijuana" on it. Some of the songs overlap with the Vampisoul comp form a few years back. The latter also has pretty extensive liner notes by Mr. Williams. Can't vouch for the new one, yet.
  1:50pm PFFlyer:

Thanks John L!
  1:52pm PFFlyer:

man I dig that bass drop.....1 2 Brwn eyes...oh....so complete!
  2:01pm Mike East:

I think the Gay Blades (no "e") are a Jersey band. Some friends of mine used to play shows with them.
  2:03pm KevinWho:

speaking of burgh bands, Cynics---with The Sights---in Pittsburgh on Saturday night
  2:10pm dc pat:

KevinWho - take earplugs...
  2:11pm King Penguin:

god i love this song, any version. Like a fox!
  2:12pm PFFlyer:

and following up on what Joe just mentioned: Thanks to all those musicians & hanger on-ers that supported the sounds that we're able to hear, FREE, today, right now......those who were talented, unlike me, who can put a sound out & bring the best out of us. We (I) never spit into a mic nor did I ever get gouged by a rep from a label. Nor did I ever ride in that van from Chicago to nowhere Nebraska to share my sound. I was safe in a bar, a car, a house...whatever...listening to your sound. Thank you, to all that have talent, play, share & eventually find their way to WFMU's Three Chord Monte. And, in closing (thank the gods, say ya'll....) JB...hang in there....keep doin' whatcha' do. CY later!
  2:13pm King Penguin:

Like a fox, like a fox, like a fox ... on the run!
  2:21pm Cecile:

I loved it so much when I saw Mark and the Jackets do Treat her Right live...

Ha! Chooglin'! From my hometown.
  2:22pm Joe B:

did you ever see these guys Cecile? their Cd is very good!
  2:23pm Cecile:

No, but I hear they are crazy fun live.
I think they morphed out of the Midnight Evils. They started our more scuzz-punk but then the R&B crept in IIRC.
  2:24pm Cecile:

I mean the Evils did.
Chooglin were straight out garage/r'n'b
  2:26pm Cecile:

right out of the box.
  2:27pm Joe B:

I resisted them at first because they used the name my brother and I were gonna use for our CCR cover band!
  2:30pm Cecile:

My friends know them, say they're nice young guys - really into doing the music right.
  2:32pm PFFlyer:

The question: Is it possible to wet your pants listening to such sounds?
  2:38pm PFFlyer:

in closing, "drunken beration" and admitting it...yup...guilty as charged and later shamed into oblivion....ex: Joan Jett 1981(?), Hypsterz at the Longhorn & 7th Entry Minneapolis...sheeee eye T. I don' t know nothing from nothing. Anyway, rock on friends!
  2:42pm KevinWho:

Philly-area people: Ben Vaughn Combo, Kenn Kweder, and others early Sunday evening at Fergie's
http://aldofest.org/
  2:44pm John L:

I was just checking to see if Paul had any immediate plans to reissue Ram. Instead, I see that he is recording an album of standards with Diana Krall.
  2:47pm Joe B:

boy that sounds ... lame. especially since i really liked his last two studio albums
  2:47pm John Bull:

Hey is't that great song from "Garden State!"
  2:47pm Mark in DC:

Thanks for "Every Night", good to hear that today.
  2:47pm KevinWho:

@John L:
"an album of standards with Diana Krall"
ugh. there goes my afternoon.
  2:49pm seang:

hey, I live in Somerville
  2:50pm David Shortell:

If it hasn't been mentioned, those two Japanese bands scheduled for next week's broadcast are playing Bordentown, NJ on Monday.
  2:50pm Joe B:

mass. or NJ?
  2:50pm seang:

the rent is too damn high though
  2:51pm seang:

Mass, unfortunately
  2:52pm John Harvard:

In the Commonwealth, it's "Slumerville"
  2:52pm Joe B:

my sister lives there.
  2:55pm Cian:

hey all, greetings from a grotty campus in dirty Dublin
  5:04pm Retro Dee:
