  7:45pm
T-Zero:

Unfortunately, Monica. Yes. Several times: Mugged, vehicle breakins, endless instances of the more metaphorical stealing of one's dignity
  7:45pm
james:

someone stole my mom's car out of the 6 flags great adventure parking lot when i was a kid. we spent hours thinking we just forgot where it was parked ... then around midnight, long after closing, when there wasnt a single car left, we knew
  7:46pm
james:

i have some friends in atlanta who told me they got so tired of people busting in their car windows, they started leaving their doors unlocked
  7:46pm
aido:

had a 1956 fender music master stolen from the bar i worked at back in '83. i'd written almost all my songs on that baby. a rare 3/4 maple neck doozy. i still cry about it.
  7:47pm
CB1:

After winning a science fair in jr high, a kid from another town called and asked to "borrow" it. Needless to say, never saw that again!
  7:47pm
martin:

you made my East-LA born heart very happy by playing Malo's Suavecito. Thanks.
  7:49pm
T-Zero:

Speaking of books... Had an ex that auctioned off an entire library I had placed in storage while moving. In perspective, that was probably the theft that still stings the most.
  7:50pm
cheri:

i hope you have a great thanksgiving mo,,,
  7:50pm
listener gary:

many years ago I went out to dinner at a Japanese restaurant in the West Village. When it came time to pay the piper My wallet was not in my pocket. I assumed that when I had changed to go out i had forgotten to switch the walet to the pants I was wearing. However!!! when I stood up to leave I tripped over my7 wallet wheich was on the floor with a chop stick in it. Nothing seemed to be missing. The next day Macy's called and asked if I had been robbed recently. Someone was in the store using my credit card and charged a hundred pairs of men's underwear. They told me who the pickpocket was...he was well known to them
  7:50pm
karen:

My husband was robbed at gunpoint when he went to the ATM for cash so I could buy a new winter coat. I felt terrible about it for ages, like I had sent him into a path of danger.
  7:52pm
CB1:

listener gary - a hundred pair of men's underwear?
  7:53pm
G:

@CB1 -- to resell!!!
  7:54pm
Don (trip dub):

Mo - Somehow I feel inextricably bound to you by that Harlem World experience. Others included accosted for Isley tix at MSG (b/f it was well lit) and (@ aido) a Guild Starfire IV stolen by a crafty lousy roomate.
  7:56pm
Websie:

I was mugged a couple times in the bad old days, but also had one of my Lower East Side roommate's endless series of one-night stands walk off the morning after with my electric razor. I hope he also left with said roommate's perpetual case of crabs.
  7:57pm
monica:

damn, y'all got vicked! great stories.
  7:58pm
annie:

some punk high-school "pal" of my son stole a whole cd case of my deejay music. we're talking over two hundred cds.. it was returned by his brother years later when he discovered it in the basement. he came right to me as he knew i had a radio show.. and knew they were mine.. that punk is now a meth addict in binghamton
  7:59pm
G:

meth addict? maybe he was storing the cd's to sell later for dental surgery.
  8:00pm
aido:

besides losing my mojo some time ago, a friend was being mugged almost nightly as he went home from same bar and asked if he could borrow m knife to defend himself. after work, i was on my way to his apartment to retrieve it and got held up by a gang with MY OWN knife. wtf?
  8:00pm
annie:

haha.. well, i think he stashed them after he saw what was in them.. big band, jazz and blues .. he must have thought he was stealing my kid's phish collection
  8:01pm
Cold Sesame Noodles:

Speaking of thefts: I recently, quite accidentally, bumped into the lass who, 36 years ago, stole my cherry.(Our thing didn't end great, but it wasn't horrible. We lived in different cities, after all.) Anyway, we made smallish talk at this gathering we were attending and said "I'll say hello on Facebook," to each other, but it's been a week and neither of us has friended the other.
  8:01pm
Steve:

Bette Davis ran away with my heart more than once
  8:02pm
gail:

I heard the orig. Statler bros doing Flowers On The Wall today. What a fab song! Banjo to funky Tom in 3 pt harmony
  8:03pm
Dagmar Paley:

You know what they say - "She's got a way with men, and she just got away with mine."
  8:05pm
karen:

I don't know if I should mention this but: there's no way to describe how robbed I felt when my soon-to be-ex left the house and took my whole vinyl collection. He even tried to trick me by switching my premium turntable for a crap one!
  8:05pm
monica:

annie, ouch!! hope he lost his teefs... websie, time was when a fella paid xtra to get ruffed up...don, roomates - bad news bears...karen, giel don't feel bad, wan't yer fault...Gary - now that's funny...you too, cheri!!... for you, martin....CB1 - tghief!! he went thataway!... aido, must ahurt...james, t-zero yikes!...G, Eric - guilty m'fers - let's git 'em.
  8:07pm
Don (trip dub):

There's alot to be learned from Betty Boop cartoon on how the grass is 'greener' after leaving the city for the country. Camcorder was taken from my house from Dish Network installer. Police found it in said installer's home with home made sex tape from him and his girlfriend.
  8:08pm
Installer:

Hey, a guy's gotta have some fun.
  8:10pm
Dish network Exec:

Hey, ! you told us that was a secret!
  8:10pm
Don (trip dub):

@installer. I think I saw you at OWS. Thats the price one pays for low wages..
  8:11pm
Installer:

I thought sure Don was soft and would never report me. My bad.
  8:13pm
Don (trip dub):

@installer. I guess the programming was so bad on Dish that you had to entertain yourself. Still not as bad as divorce.
  8:20pm
listener gary:

typo...one hundred DOLLARS of men's underwear
  8:20pm
Installer:

Isn't everyone divorced any more?
  8:21pm
erika:

joyce, what do i have to do to get this .mp3 from you
  8:21pm
listener1:

I was robbed when I heard busta rhymes and it didn't get played
  8:22pm
cb1:

Why are underwear "pairs?" I mean, there's only one . . .
  8:23pm
monica:

listener 1- ha! chk it out at RapBoard.com - signatures gruntsz & groanz from yer fave mcs...
  8:23pm
Noah Webester:

two symmetrical halves, two legholes
  8:24pm
listener gary:

pair of underwear...let's see.. two cheeks, two legs...two ah...one waistband..uh...
  8:24pm
cb1:

a pair of leg holes...
  8:26pm
cb1:

we don't say a pair of bras do we? That's two...
  8:28pm
listener gary:

two cups make a pint
  8:28pm
Don (trip dub):

I thought the pastor said his name was Hezekiah.
  8:29pm
Noah Webster:

Bra is short for a French word that means "armpiece" because it straps over the arms. In other words, bra(ssiere) is a euphemism, not a directly descriptive term. Bras didn't even exist till about 80 or so years ago.
  8:29pm
trish:

Maybe because legs move independently, like scissors.
  8:31pm
listener gary:

you can wear a pair of swimtrunks.
  8:31pm
trish:

Breasts sing and swing in unison.
  8:31pm
Batavia, NY:

....and bounce!
  8:31pm
Don (trip dub):

Do I detect a passive aggressive mix?
  8:32pm
listener gary:

but only a jock strap
  8:32pm
Noah Webster:

All these legwear terms are like pants. Pair of pants. The other words just follow the "pair of pants" pattern.
  8:32pm
Noah Webster:

If you had two you know whats, you could get a pair of jocks for them.
  8:33pm
Websie:

RIP Andrea True
  8:33pm
Batavia, NY:

Everything comes in pairs!
  8:34pm
trish:

From the land of Arbitrary English? Like a sleaze of sponges and a murder of crows ?
  8:34pm
Don (trip dub):

DJ Shirlock says following the Reverend with Andrea True is passive aggressive. I like.
  8:35pm
Davice in Batavia, NY:

Keep on bouncing, you mean!
  8:37pm
Parq:

A disco princess living in Woodstock in her senior years tells you everything you need to know about how conflicted she must have been.
  8:38pm
G:

Speaking of RIPs, wasn't it in thre news that the third Gibb brother from the Bee Gees may not be long for this world?
  8:40pm
monica:

G, did he pass? Know he wasn't lookin' too good... Parq, weid huh? Woodstock is a weird repository...
  8:41pm
Gertrude:

a pair is a pair is a pair is a pair is a pair . . .
  8:42pm
G:

Liver cancer, in hospital, wife not leaving side -- that is what I vaguely recall from a quickly read story. Sad...
  8:46pm
G:

http://lat.ms/u4PpMC

On Gibbs from LA Times blog
  8:47pm

  8:54pm
Doug S.:

  8:54pm
cb1:
