I hope we hit 1982 soon.

I got back from holiday yesterday and just realised that I left my Cocteau Twins compilation of 1982-2000 in the CD drive of my parents' computer 1000 km away. :-(

@Danne: How are you? It's been a really good day so far: lots of people saying "Happy birthday" on FB, lunch at the German/Austrian restaurant paid for by work, finally worked out why my program wasn't working.
I'll see my parents at Christmas so it's not too long to wait. Also, I'm going to Star Wars Burlesque tonight. Ha ha ha!

For The Elastic Band see 'Rubbles'. '8 1/2 Hours ...' was the B of a song called 'Do Unto Others' (Decca, Sep 1968). From the English Midlands & North Wales, they included guitarist Andy Scott later of The Sweet. Great show, Mike. I particularly enjoyed the opening Fleetwood Mac / Rotary Connection sequence.
  1:22am

  2:14am
David Shortell:

Was "Paxton's Back Street Carnival" a bonus track added by Sundazed? Back in high school a classmate taped the original LP for me, but I don't remember that song. A pity it didn't make it onto the "Psych-Out" soundtrack!
  2:16am
Mike Sin:

Hey - I wish I could rsspond to each of your comments individually, but just don't have the dexterity! But, I really thank you all.
  2:17am
Justinline:

Oh man . . . this Hey Joe rendition has got me in a trance (Redondo Beacn, CA).
  2:26am
Mike Sin:

David S -- I think there were two versions of that LP. Will have to check.
  2:42am
Elwyn:

I've got to go. I enjoyed your show Mike!
  2:45am
Terre T:

This has to be the best show you've ever done! I love it--throwing many curves and the pacing and mixes are amazing! I gotta go to sleep now-but i don't want to!
  2:46am
Mike Oz:

David S, yes, "Paxton Street Carnival" was on the original 1st album by The Strawberry Alarm Clock, 'Incense And Peppermints'. Perhaps your tape came from a later compilation such as the 1990 release titled 'Incense & Peppermints' (note ampersand) which includes only four tracks from the 1st LP plus the B of "Incense ..", "The Birdman Of Alkatrash", and later tracks like "Sit With The Guru" and their 1969 version of "Good Morning Starshine".

Mike S, as you say, The Rokes were a UK band working in Italy. They did Italian-language versions of US & UK hits as well as songs by Italian writers in Italian such as the original version (don't know the title) of "Let's Live For Today" later a US hit for The Grass Roots (who also recorded "Bella Linda", also originally by The Rokes). Phew!
  2:57am
David Shortell:

Thanks, Mike Oz. No, it wasn't the 1990 comp. So either I've got a lousy memory or my classmate short-changed me!
