  9:12pm
vanya:

  9:13pm
Destroit:

Hello martha and everyone. Glad to be here.
  9:15pm
Richard from Venezuela:

Good evening Martha and all the listeners.
  9:20pm
Joe Mulligan:

This sewn leather was cracked up and hot!
  9:27pm
Martha:

Hi all - and yes, that Sewn Leather LP is amazing - can't play enough of it - and always happy to see new Russian music in here as well -
  9:51pm
Richard from Venezuela:

According to this, the Dimenticarmi Non song is called Realnost' zla

  9:52pm
vanya:

reality of evil yo!
  9:53pm
Martha:

Thanks Richard and Vanya - updated and w/ the translation! - thanks again -
  9:54pm
Richard from Venezuela:

Thanks vanya.
  9:57pm
vanya:

hey we CONTRIBUTED! ))
  9:58pm
Martha:

I do like the comments section b/c I learn so much from the listeners (although, to be honest, it initially freaked me out a bit) -
  9:59pm
jeff:

such a killllller band. im digging this show!
  10:00pm
dave:

expo '70s been one of my serious obsessions over the last year. pretty much love everything he does, and it's always instantly identifiable.
  10:00pm
Martha:

Hey thanks Jeff! - Yes, great band, went off of them for a bit (don't know why) but have now happily returned -
  10:02pm
Martha:

And Dave, you're right - should have been more in your mindset -
  10:04pm
jeff:

gonna have to start rearranging my sundays w/ the fmu stuff ive been hearing. been real into the Frow Show lately.
(any idea why some shows have podcasts available and others do not?)
  10:05pm
miss cheri:

hi there martha--excuse me for being off topic but are you a big mila kunis fan as much as i am?
  10:07pm
Mike East:

@jeff - I don't know the answer to that, but the WFMU app allows you to download and save any archived show and listen to it later, much like a podcast. That has been my solution for listening to shows that don't podcast.
  10:11pm
dave:

i think the podcast decision may have something to do with rights issues regarding the music played. originally, only the nonmusic things were podcast. the station's gotten some sort of special dispensation from a mess of labels with regards to streaming rights, so maybe that extends to podcast rights as well.
  10:12pm
dave:

... i'd assume the DJ gets some say in it as well, of course.
  10:13pm
jeff:

oh interesting. thanks for the heads up! best wishes from dc, all.
  10:14pm
dave:

and, sorry to monopolize the playlist, but holy CRAP has this been a good set.
  10:14pm
Cheri Pi:

this is bad ass.
  10:15pm
Richard from Venezuela:

Agreed. Extraordinary set.
  10:15pm
jeff:

was thinking the same thing! never heard of Vaura, but this is kind of killer.
  10:17pm
Andrew Waterloo:

I concur!
  10:17pm
Martha:

Podcasts are largely programs not otherwise available (including samplings of some folks 'regular' shows) with some of our talk-y programs mixed in - will look into why and get back to you all -
  10:18pm
Martha:

And thanks all for the good words!
Avatar 10:19pm

wfmu.org...
  10:19pm
Cheri Pi:

new Men????????????
  10:19pm
Andrew Waterloo:

It may just be a matter of length. It does look like most of the podcasts are for the 1-hour type shows. Then again, I just watched a 3-hour podcast yesterday.
  10:20pm
Richard from Venezuela:

Searching information about Vaura on Last.Fm. Oh my god, brutal musicians in this band. http://www.last.fm/music/Vaura

"Vaura’s is a New York, USA quartet featuring members of Dysrhythmia, Gorguts, Kayo Dot, Secret Chiefs 3 and Religious to Damn. "

Thanks for sharing this band Martha. I never heard them until now. And maybe wiil be a music highlight for me in 2012. I'll looking forward to listen Selenion soon.
  10:21pm
Martha:

New Men!
  10:22pm
jeff:

haha. awesome. kayo dot are friends from when i lived in boston. and i released a limited thing from an old member of theirs. had no idea!
  10:22pm
Andrew Waterloo:

I think I discover 1 band worth checking out per hour of listening to WFMU.
  10:23pm
miss cheri:

martha i guess you don't care for mila k. that much huh? btw i'm enjoying your show tonight!!
  10:24pm
Cheri Pi:

I just facebooked vaura & gave them a link to this show!!!
  10:36pm
Richard from Venezuela:

this Seven that Spells track sound killer.
  10:37pm
Cheri Pi:

agreed-killer!!!
  10:40pm
Martha:

Yes - great band, great album - if you can say that about a CD...
  10:59pm
dave:

really liking this robert turman piece.
  10:59pm
jeff:

nice track...dig this guy.
  11:04pm
miss cheri:

well good night all
  11:06pm
dave:

pygmy divorce is the definition of 'unlikely classic'.
  11:07pm
Martha:

Hah!
  11:08pm
dave:

also, maybe it's just 'cause i don't speak the language, but he seems a lot more blasé about the whole thing in this version.
  11:10pm
Martha:

Well, it may not be his divorce...
  11:13pm
dave:

good point.

in the (first-person) english version, the narrator seems to get pretty wound up about what a bad woman his soon-to-be-ex is.
  11:18pm
Martha:

I didn't know there WAS an English language version - so I think your insight is far better than mine -
  11:27pm
dave:

here's a pointer to the english version on youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXLhfIh02NI

apparently it's on "the rough guide to yodel". i've only ever heard the english one, but it seems to turn up on fmu with remarkable frequency -- hence the "unlikely classic" comment. plus, it's just a great tune.
  11:29pm
Martha:

Thanks for the info - clearly unaware of my surroundings here...
  11:29pm
jeff:

oh killer - i used to play with ed from matta gawa! DC head.
  11:31pm
dave:

that disappears song was really good too. tonight's show has been great payback for the marathon.
  11:38pm
Martha:

Yes, it is a great record - and thanks for the good words, nice thing to say!
  11:58pm
jefff:

This is some slender sounds right now
  11:59pm
dave:

discogs claims enfer boreal is also high wolf & annapurna illusion, which explains the awesome somnewhat
  10:38am
john shrubs:
