Listener comments!

  9:05pm
Richard from Venezuela:

Peaceful start. Greetings Martha.
  9:06pm
Destroit:

Hello Martha, and all listeners.
  9:10pm
j-No:

Thanks for showing, I mean playing Noh Mercy! The only song I know by them is Caucasian Guilt, which I'd guess is too edgy by today's standards.
  9:11pm
ec:

This Noh Mercy is so good!
  9:14pm
ec:

Cool, 3 bands on my mind being played in a row. Awesome.
  9:15pm
Karl:

Hi martha, this Feedtime hitting the spot right now (especially since the tone arm on my turntable is F'ed so I can't listen to any rekkids)
  9:16pm
Martha:

Thanks all for checking in - and No Caucasian Guilt is too 'edgy' for broadcast radio, I'm afraid -
  9:23pm
Destroit:

Never afraid, pleasure to watch hoops and listen. Big hug martha.
  9:27pm
PB:

Hello to Martha, Destroit, Richard et al.
  9:28pm
Colm:

Speedwolf are awesome!
  9:30pm
Martha:

Speedwolf are f'antastic - thanks for checking in - and hope the hoops are going your way -
  9:32pm
PB:

"Multitasking" - watching hoops, downloading CDs to iTunes (yes, I still buy CDs whenever possible) and listening to Martha.
  9:37pm
?:

I would not be displeased if No Te Hagas Platas turns up on the martha marathon favor.
  9:46pm
Martha:

Good idea! - though it is pretty much done - could try to squeeze it in...
  10:06pm
j-No:

A cave man who wears pants giving advice on sexual politics? I don't know ...
  10:08pm
Martha:

Well, it was recorded in '65...
  10:15pm
Shana:

Hey Martha! Argh, I missed the Speedwolf track. (On tour in 2012!) Um, great Peppers recitation....
  10:22pm
Martha:

On tour! YES! Peppers ref., need to recall clearly there...
  10:27pm
Richard from Venezuela:

Mount Carmel make a killer live session on WFMU available on Free Music Archive. Awesome band.
  10:29pm
Richard from Venezuela:

Venezuelan Yva Las Vegas also available on Free Music Archive. Honest rocker.
  10:37pm
j-No:

Yesterday was the 33rd anniversary of an original punk rock radio program in Houston, that I had the honor of working on for half of it's 11-year run ('79-'90). Your killer show tonite is a extra celebratory treat, generating a comparable amount of heat and light that we also did in those early days. Rock on, Martha!
  10:46pm
Martha:

That's a great compliment, thanks! And thanks Richard for the info, apologies for mis-translating it on the air...
  11:04pm
dave:

loving this owwl track.

looks like it's named for the location of the tunguska event.
  11:10pm
Martha:

Oh, thanks! Though I am afraid I don't know about the Tunguska event - is that when all the trees got blown down in a circle in NE Russia? - or better yet, I'll look it up -
  11:10pm
Martha:

I guessed right! - miracle - I think they determined it was a meteor -
  11:13pm
dave:

yepyep, that's the tunguska thing. meteor blew up over siberia in, like, the early 1900s.

also: between this yannis frier track, last week's enfer boreal, and the fact that they've got a je suis le petit chevalier release, i'm thinking la station radar's fake tape series might be the best thing in the whole world.
  11:15pm
Martha:

Agreed - really glad you enjoyed the Enfer Boreal, I thought that was particularly beautiful...
  11:20pm
dave:

yeah, that enfer boreal was amazing. i mentioned at the last second last week that it looks like it's the same person behind annapurna illusion and high wolf, who are also pretty awesome in the same sort of psychy way.
  11:22pm
Martha:

Annapurna Illusion, I really enjoyed that as well - though had a hard time convincing any of the CD players here to work with it...
  11:29pm
dave:

yeah, that's a bit of a problem with CDRs and the little 3" CDs like la station radar is putting out. at least vinyl will usually play at least a little bit.

the best "cd won't play" experience i've had was a mudboy cd that arrived all destroyed with sort of lacework cracks. it looked so nice i decided to keep it. plus, it seemed sort of in keeping with his ethos.
  11:40pm
Colm:

Talk doesn't feed the Rock Gods!!!
  1:46am
Haunted Souls:

Thanks for playing the track from the Bloodstains comp!
