I picked up this "Something is Wrong" comp in Reykjavik, should have waited until I was stateside, as the kronir makes things pricey.

nice Hammerhead. This must be amazing live.

this Time To Go comp is killer!! Thanks for playing more of it Jason!

credit where credit's due - the text from dog thing came from frangry's tumblr.

Cheri Pi:

Cecile-I'll definitely check that out!
  10:30am
braveness23:

I think I used to gig with Peter Aaron in the 80's. I'm FB friends with him now. I am embarrassed to say that I had no idea that he was a rock star. Hehe
  10:33am
Cheri Pi:

He had the attitude way before he became a star.
  10:37am
braveness23:

That is exactly my recollection of him. I have been friends with a number of people without really realizing that they were stars. Frankly, I prefer that kind of relationship. Keeps things level headed.
  10:40am
Vorsprung durch Technik:

yeah, basically nearly all legitimate artist / intellectual types I've met have been like that.
  10:43am
braveness23:

I used to have a crush on Erika Wennerstrom when I thought she was just a cute, dorky bartender. And then I started seeing her on David Letterman and shit and it just spoiled things for me. Sorry Erika, it just got weird. ;-)
  10:44am
glenn:

i always take the attitude that everything is work / job. it makes it easier to interact with musicians and other artists.
  10:47am
lane:

yeah, being an artist is a pain in the ass.
  10:48am
BSI:

whoa...this Magdalena Solis.
  10:49am
lane:

and there are plenty of people that are "aritists" that are not musicians or painters. I know a couple bankers and a dentist that are "artists."
  10:49am
braveness23:

I almost never talk to my music idols because I want to keep them on the pedestal. But last night I went to see Low and made casual talk with both Kelly Deal and Alan Sparhawk. They were both really sweet and funny. There were probably on 50-75 people at the show and I spend the night right up at the stage since it was the only thing to lean on.
  10:51am
BSI:

.....followed by Kinski. Well done, doctor captain.
  10:52am
Cheri Pi:

I talked to the White Hill's guy last night :)
  10:53am
lane:

the thing about artists is they need to get the kind of recognition for that "art" thing or that "creative" thing in the field that they are in. So a guy can be a dentist, but he has to be a "star" dentist. or whatever.
  10:55am
dc pat:

you guys talk to BSI every day and he's a star....
  10:55am
BSI:

Shared a couple of bills with musical "idols," which at least serves as a conversational ice-breaker. Maybe that's cheating, i dunno...
  10:55am
lane:

so kim and kelley deal can be cool, artists aren't always assholes. the deal sister can be cool because they are kick ass musicians.. so they scratched that itch, and can be cool, especially to other NON musicians... but if you are a music wank fuck... WATCH OUT!... The Deal Sisters will tear u a new one!
  10:56am
BSI:

HEY NOW DCPAT, my ego don't need no hep.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57am
jason:

reaching for the "Comtrex"...
  10:57am
lane:

so the lesson is, "don't be a wank fuck"
  11:01am
Vorsprung durch Technik:

also, they have no need to go out of their way to dis "lesser" artists than they are. in fact they don't care about comparisons to other artists at all.
  11:01am
Cheri Pi:

Comtrex!
  11:01am
Chris:

Sparks!
  11:02am
lane:

and by way of introduction since i'm new here. this is me www.lanetwitchell.com... i've gotten in trouble not Trouble trouble.... lol, but confused people in the past with my commenting style. I left a blog recently beacuse it was writing based, rather than this, which is more music / art based. and I'm a long time FMU fan... and Vorsprung, yes, they don't care about lesser artists at all. it's only the other kind of good ones they care about warily... : - )
  11:07am
lane:

kick ass bed music!

Thought this was BSI.
  11:14am
Cecile:

BSI. awesome.
That was my mantra in the 80s.
That helped me graduate from college.
  11:15am
lane:

thanks jason,,, i was worried i'd scared everybody off. Scott Williams and Trouble are old acuatintences, as are Micheal Goodstein and Black Ops, and Jeffrey Cobb, and Dave Mandle love the FMU! Hate working alone!
  11:15am
BSI:

thx Jason.
God that was a loud gig. Subwoofers wobbling everywhere.
  11:16am
Comtrex:

Yup. Just me!

  11:19am

BSI,,, nice, i have pinnacle stacks here, pretty loud if i push it.
  11:19am
Mike Fun:

This track is sampling "Boards of Canada"
  11:23am
lane:

and Vorsprung, just because i'd recently used that phrase with an old friend, we don't know each other, do we?
  11:24am
Derek:

@Mike Fun - I was out in the hall talking to the plumber and as he was warbling on I thought I heard BoC, thanks for verifying that I did.
  11:39am
northguineahills:

My bandmate has a bajillion recordings from the last decade we've done w/Daniel Carter, Talibam!, DJ Olive etc on his website. I'm not one to put out physical object as a musical document, and prefer just to play live. However, I was asked if we could drop some of the recordings at the FMA. How do I go about doing that? Thanks!
  11:40am

  11:40am
Cheri Pi:

just love this new Mad Scene & Comtrex!
  11:41am
braveness23:

CP, will you please call me? I've tried to get in touch with you via other means but I think technology is failing today.
  11:43am
Cheri Pi:

I'll check FB, and I don't have your number becasue my celly doesn't work in this building.
  11:43am
Chris from DC:

Seriously, the Mad Scene record's great.
  11:44am
lane:

how can i improve my live stream? i'm on itunes with MP3 app and it keeps rebuffering and is annoying.
  11:44am
maja:

agree with chris from dc
  11:48am
Cheri Pi:

Lane-try the flash stream, I"m a believer.
  11:50am
maja:

i wanted to say that too but had my math wrong
  11:51am
northguineahills:

I need to get this "Electronic Anthology Project of Dinosaur Jr.)
  11:52am
maja:

and if flash doesn't do the trick either, try the 32k
  11:52am
Cheri Pi:

I get the math correct but am riddled with typos, that's how I roll.
  11:53am
BSI:

stepped away, back now, show's almost over. dang.
You're gonna have to do it all over again, sorry man...
  11:57am
seang:

every dog has its day
  11:58am
Cheri Pi:

The White Hills guy was telling me about BT playing on that record last night! BT is a star.
  12:00pm

bye!
  12:52am
Sam:

Whats up with that Ami Dang band, that track was kind of rad...?
