Dan B From Upstate:

Hey, Caryn. How are things?
  7:05pm
Caryn:

Oh, broke as hell, Dan, but otherwise fine. Just worried that my NASA nitpicking will be front and centre again.
  7:05pm
Cliff:

I love it when they screw up the intro
  7:07pm
Listener Dave from Seattle:

Wait, what?
  7:08pm
Cliff:

I'm confused already.
  7:08pm
Dan B From Upstate:

All right! I think I've got it... So...

...I don't got it.
  7:09pm
Caryn:

Are they gonna mention astronaut no. 7, Deke Slayton, at all? He didn't get to go to space until the mid-70s, but he was part of the Mercury project, dammit!
  7:09pm
Cliff:

I think it's if the minute is a prime number, then they're gonna launch a rocket. Or something like that.
  7:11pm
Dan B From Upstate:

I... have to come up with another terrible celebrity impression, don't I?
  7:17pm
Listener Dave from Seattle:

Didn't they land on the moon on July 21st, 1969? Are the dates getting confused?
  7:18pm
?:

ohh caryn-- do you agree that night people should have mila kunis as special call in guest?
  7:18pm
Listener Dave from Seattle:

Oh, OK thanks. Interesting that these things happened on similar dates.
  7:24pm
glenn:

NOBODY FUCKING CARES ABOUT MILA FUCKING KUNIS FOR FUCK SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7:26pm
glenn:

i just had to get that off my chest.
  7:27pm
Caryn:

Poor Enos. Had a hard mission, worked his butt off, died less than a year later, and got discarded as medical waste. :(
  7:28pm
Dan B From Upstate:

I'm guessing the chimp didn't realize the situation he was in, accounting for his relative stoicism.
  7:31pm
Listener Dave from Seattle:

Pigs in space?
  7:32pm
Dan B From Upstate:

Skylab was a great show. Never should have been canceled.
  7:32pm
Brian in Madison, WI:

Finally, the chicken gets its due!
  7:32pm
Caryn:

It has to be said that though there was suspicion that Grissom panicked and blew the hatch, all physical evidence has found that he didn't. The hatch blew due to a technical error. The capsule was recovered in 1999. It's now on display in a Kansas museum.
  7:32pm
?:

glenn we never do give a damn how you feel,,, so shut the hell up!!!!
  7:33pm

  7:34pm
Listener Dave from Seattle:

The male chicks mostly get thrown away, yes
  7:34pm
Dan B From Upstate:

I wish I could see the shuttle. I live too far north.
  7:35pm
glenn:

  7:35pm
?:

caryn,, do you think it's a good or bad idea having mila k. on this show??
  7:36pm
Caryn:

Rooster is the term more commonly used in the US, cock and cockerel in the UK.
  7:37pm
Cliff:

Caryn, you're a font of knowledge. (Or is it fount?)
  7:38pm
Caryn:

I don't care much either way. If there's a reason for it, sure. But I don't see Dave and Andy going out of their way to get her.
  7:39pm
Caryn:

@Cliff: it can be either one. Font or fount. And: aww, thanks.
  7:39pm
Dan B From Upstate:

Getting Mila Kunis is Corey's job.
  7:41pm

They had a whole experimental project in the Soviet Union about trying to crossbreed humans and apes.

  7:48pm
Caryn:

They first tried with chimps, then orangutangs. Several decades later it was found that gibbons seemed to be the best match for humans. Non-hominoid primates, like baboons, rhesus monkeys and squirrel monkeys, have been found to be definite non-matches. But no successful hybrid, or "humanzee", has ever been bred.
  7:48pm
Caryn:

Bye cheri.
