Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:08pm
Amanda:

Heyo Richard, Matt, Hank, and John! So glad to see your smiling faces!
  12:11pm
Hank:

It's a coat hanger keeping this smile in place.
  12:12pm
Van in DC:

Well. Late again. Hi there Amanda, and all ya'lls
  12:16pm
Danne D:

  12:16pm
Candace:

  12:18pm
Matt from Springfield:

Trying stretch my grin from one ear to the next Amanda!
Hello to all other all y'alls that just came in.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm
Amanda:

Indeed! Welcome Candace, and Danne D, and Van. I'm thrilled to have you.
  12:31pm
Van in DC:

WHAT!?
  12:31pm
john:

noooooooooooooo!
  12:32pm
Danne D:

Oh no :( I hope you're leaving early is for no bad reason :(

But grateful that we get at least an hour of Amanda :)
  12:32pm
Van in DC:

:)
  12:33pm
Danne D:

Yee Haw :)
  12:34pm
Hank:

Did La Cucharacha (cockroach) sit too close to the marijauna smoke & get a little too relaxed?
  12:35pm
Ye Olde Reliable Stream:

Leave early if really necessary. Hey, I'm easy. :-)
  12:37pm
Skirkie:

Can't you just find some 2 hour song to play?
  12:37pm
Danne D:

This is almost like a country polka :)
  12:41pm
SteveL:

Good to be listening live. First time in weeks. [contented sigh]
  12:45pm
Danne D:

See Amanda, Steve's listening live - now ya gotta stay ;)
  12:48pm
SteveL:

Danne D is right. I will pout like a six-year-old if you leave. Please. Think of my coworkers.
  12:54pm
Danne D:

Yay :) More Amanda show :)
  12:55pm
Hank:

synchronised pouting, an olympic event.
  12:56pm
G:

Does synchronized pouting require those theatrical grunts, like pro tennis?
  12:56pm
SteveL:

"You call that a lower-lip extension?? I call it CRAP!"
  12:57pm
ndbob:

afternoon Amanda and everyone!
  12:57pm
SteveL:

G: Yes.
  12:58pm
G:

I thought so. Those are annoying. But in theatrical pouting, that would be the *point*, I assume :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm
Amanda:

Hey SteveL, and G, and ndbob! I won't pout if you guys don't. Sorry for the perhaps unnecessary alarm.
  1:02pm
SteveL:

G: High-pitched whimpering is also acceptable.
  1:15pm
Hank:

Breath holding is the ultimate event. That's breath.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm
Amanda:

Sounds like we have a lot of parents in the audience. Well -- either parents or emotional 6-year-olds!
  1:21pm
SteveL:

Actually, my daughter was more direct as an infant. She would bite when displeased. She also had a glass-shattering shriek. Good to raise a strong, (if violent) young lady.
  1:25pm
kat330:

Had to come aboard to say how wonderfully well the Costello turned into Diamond. Sweet, Amanda!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm
Amanda:

Aw, YOU are the sweet one, kat330! Thank you!
  1:29pm
ndbob:

Hello Kat!
  1:30pm
kat330:

Hey, back atcha Bob!
  1:31pm
kat330:

It's quite warm, breezy and sunny here today, so expect that scenario tomorrow, Nazario. Yes, tomorrow. :)
  1:32pm
ndbob:

cloudy and mild here
  1:36pm
kat330:

Why were you resisting? Resistance is useless, not beauty.
  1:42pm
Doug S.:

Stay until FOUR PM Amanda! Or FIVE! We (if I may speak for the group) command you.
  1:42pm
northguineahills:

This was the first Fall song I ever heard.
  1:44pm
Matt from Springfield:

The stream was breaking up when Amanda was saying she might have to leave--I didn't hear why, though I'm glad you're still on!
  1:45pm
Van in DC:

Something about reserving studio space...? Did I hear that right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm
Amanda:

Yeah, I forgot to sign up for my proper timeslot. I really don't even deserve to be here...
  1:51pm
Van in DC:

I'm surprised you all have to do that Amanda. I mean who ELSE would be there in the studio? ;)
  1:52pm
john:

Huh...I'd never heard a Tubes song other than "She's a Beauty".
  1:53pm
Matt from Springfield:

We need YOU on live much more than that pre-recorded podcast on feedback sounds! Tell THEM to take a hike and record elsewhere!
  1:53pm
Matt from Springfield:

Schoolboys In Disgrace!!!
  1:58pm
Van in DC:

This is the time when we chair dance, right? :)
  2:00pm
ndbob:

great that you are playing this.. it's making me think of "Glee", which I'm a big fan of
  2:03pm
kat330:

Python in the house?!
  2:03pm
Matt from Springfield:

"Ethel The Aardvark Goes Quantity Surveying"!!!
A++, you got great taste Amanda! :)
  2:04pm
Van in DC:

bwaa ha ha this is great
  2:04pm
kat330:

Cleese and Jones?
  2:05pm
kat330:

Oh, Palin! He's using a different voice than I've heard.
  2:06pm
northguineahills:

I was just reading an article on author trolls, who pen books that sound like best sellers and peddle them on Amazon. This is the first thing that came to mind
  2:06pm
kat330:

I was so fortunate to see Python live at the Hollywood Bowl some moons ago.
  2:07pm
Matt from Springfield:

WOW, can even teach an old fan like me something! I'd always assumed that was Jones myself, but I can tell now that's a subtle Palin!

Extra credit for Rutles finish! (Extra extra credit if you add a Bonzo Dog Band after this one? ;)
  2:08pm
ndbob:

Rutles!
  2:08pm
Matt from Springfield:

@kat: Whoa, the filmed version in 1980? Piece of performance history there!
  2:08pm
SteveL:

Luv this!
  2:09pm
Hank:

Cheese sketch take 2. Money on Jones.
  2:09pm
kat330:

@Matt: Well, it was during that spate of performances, so I dunno if the one we attended wound up on the cutting floor or in the reel for sure.
  2:10pm
Hank:

Neil In-ez
  2:11pm
kat330:

I still think it was Jones. My ears rarely fail me. :)
  2:11pm
Matt from Springfield:

@kat: Ah, but nice to know they did several performances--hard to cram all those fans in on one night!
  2:13pm
Matt from Springfield:

Bookshop "predates the group itself, having been performed on the ITV series At Last the 1948 Show in 1967." Cleese & Chapman's pre Python show.
  2:13pm
kat330:

Yeah, and I think it was standard practice to have several "takes" to choose from when putting the final film together.
  2:14pm
Skirkie:

I was rather entertained by the title of the most recent episode.
  2:15pm
Van in DC:

For sports fans, breaking news that a shooting happened and Junior Seau has apparently been killed....wow
  2:15pm
kat330:

@Matt: In that case it might be Cleese and Chapman then. I just never heard Palin do a voice like that one, and Palin is my fave Python, so his voice and Cleese's are the clearest to me.
  2:16pm
Matt from Springfield:

Whoa--according to Wiki at least, it was Cleese and CHAPMAN! That would make sense, it sounds more like Graham's nasal voice than Michael's, plus it was first performed on their show, so that makes better sense. I'd always just assumed that was Terry Jones voice though.

4."Bookshop" (Graham Chapman & John Cleese) – 4:22
  2:18pm
kw:

I thought the Cure record was a reference to the 1967 Swedish film I Am Curious (Yellow)
  2:20pm
Matt from Springfield:

Good band names there: The Dead Fireflies, The Fake Fireflies, Flashlight Fish...
  2:20pm
ndbob:

Yep kw... a movie with future Swedish PM Olaf Palme being interviewed.
  2:21pm
Matt from Springfield:

Phlashlight Phish jam band...
  2:24pm
ndbob:

I need to go.. excellent show Amanda!.. catch the rest later
  2:28pm
Danne D:

:( about the Junior Seau news - reported by TMZ. Says cops believe it's suicide. Nothing officially announced yet.
  2:29pm
northguineahills:

crazy, van!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm
Amanda:

@Skirkie -- heh! Thanks.
Boy, is my face red about Curious Oranj and that film -- which I had never heard of because it was never in a video game or anything. What would I do without you guys? :-)
  2:34pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Amanda: In the coming years, 95% of all human learning will soon happen through WFMU comment boards :)
  2:38pm
kat330:

I don't think that seafood set well with Kurt.
  2:39pm
northguineahills:

I this one of my mirvana faves.
  2:40pm
Van in DC:

Seau is blowing up twitter right now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm
Amanda:

Not Mexican Seafood as originally noted! Hairspray was the thing that set him off.
  2:41pm
kat330:

Nirvana brought me back to roll 'n' roll -- yes, I defected for several years back to classical.
  2:42pm
kat330:

@Amanda: Heh, well hairspray will certainly set something! :)
  2:45pm
Doug S.:

Thank you Amanda!!
  2:46pm
Skirkie:

Will he forget and curse? Tune in!
  2:47pm
Doug S.:

Great, Skirkie, no you got me nervous.
  2:49pm
Matt from Springfield:

It's a difficult question, even among us Pythonatics, but Chapman is now making the most sense.
  2:53pm
Matt from Springfield:

GREAT a cappella Raindrops mix! I think that was Ellie Greenwich herself.
  2:58pm
kat330:

Thanks for your sets today, setting this afternoon off for the famous steamboat race on the Ohio R. to start in a while.
Happy Derby/Cinco de Mayo!
  2:58pm
