Favoriting Brian Turner: Playlist from June 12, 2012 Favoriting

Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly-played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

Sun Araw is awesome!

Cheri Pi:

She's great! Thanks so much for watching lil Megadeth!
  4:39pm
Braveness23:

Good! Aside from trying to climb on my head every night at about 4AM she was a pleasure to have with us.
  4:42pm
Cheri Pi:

She was doing the same thing to me this morning! This was her first time away from me since her inception-I was pretty worried...
  4:43pm
Cecile:

is Mega your kitty?

DannyDeepo:

Tune!
  4:45pm
Braveness23:

I established a one strike and you're out policy after the first night so she got a couple hours of alone time each day. She's a cutie, though and got some good snuggling time.
  4:45pm
Cheri Pi:

Edith Megadeth is my tiny Australian Shepherd- she's a new rescue doggy who has some odd "behaviors" She wants to play everynight at 4am and i can't say no.
  4:46pm
DonnieDarko:

Tuner, please!
  4:47pm
Cheri Pi:

My housesitter stepped on and destroyed my acoustic guitar. It must have fallen over in the night from its corner... I'm still processing this atrocity (sp).
  4:47pm
Cecile:

awawawawawaw
  4:48pm
Cheri Pi:

At least it wasn't my Les Paul-ish.
  4:48pm
Cecile:

You spelt atrocity right.
Did they cop to it or did you find it like that?
  4:48pm
Mike East:

holy crap, Cheri Pi. I hope they're buying you a brand new Martin. I have nightmares about people destroying my acoustic, and I usually end up murdering them.
  4:50pm
Braveness23:

Oh, Megadeth is an escape artist too. I made the mistake of unleashing her before we were inside the house. Kate and I spent the next 10 minutes running around the neighborhood in the pouring rain pre-morning coffee. Yeah, she's got a few odd "behaviors"
  4:50pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

last time I played live I let my friend play my Takamine, and he set it down and it did a faceplant, mid-set. Luckily for us both it was fine.
  4:50pm
Cheri Pi:

He copped about 2 days into my return, didn't want to give me bad news right away-I can't believe I didn't see it upon entry to my dining room, it's like "right there" I have to admit that seeing it like that was very disturbing, I'm angryish almost/probably.
  4:51pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

the least he could've done would be to put some flowers or a wreath around it!
  4:51pm
DannyDeepo:

ok now tuner!
  4:51pm
Cheri Pi:

Yeah-he's gonna save up for a new one. I feel bad about it but hey-he did destroy it with his foot. It's really hard for me to be angry at a friend but here you go.
  4:52pm
Braveness23:

My acoustic was rescued from the neighbors trash and I glued the headstock back on with Gorilla glue. The only thing I would miss about it is the awesome paint job that Kate did to it. It's covered with squid tentacles.
  4:52pm
paula pc:

today is a very very BT show, like right in the zone BT
  4:52pm
Cheri Pi:

!!DCE I would have loved that actually!!!
  4:53pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

...write up a little eligy along with a HUGE MEA CULPA
  4:53pm
Mike East:

guitars are very personal items. add 15% of cost for sentimental value.
  4:54pm
Cheri Pi:

He sent me a text later saying that I should keep it in a case when not in use.
That kind of pissed me off. Who keeps a guitar in a case?
  4:54pm
Matt from Springfield:

@paula: I'm enjoying this show too, just brimming with BT-ness.
  4:54pm
Cecile:

Mr. Magic!
  4:55pm
Cecile:

You only put it in the case if you are traveling. You put computers in cases, not guitars.
  4:55pm
Mike East:

if it were a sitcom the guitar would have been replaced by the exact model. you would have gotten home and noticed something different about the way a G chord feels.
  4:55pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I keep electrics in the case, but the acoustic is free to roam wherever it wants. Admittedly it falls over way too much.
  4:55pm
Lucas:

In the ohter side sometimes people brake something and you don't really care, but the're so ashamed and feel bad and you try to convience them there is no problem and.. they feel bad
  4:56pm
Braveness23:

Non-guitarists keep their guitars in their cases... I'm running out of room in my house because of all the lovely guitars but I won't put any in their cases. I'll just buy more stands or hang them on the walls.
  4:56pm
Mike East:

wall mounts rule.
  4:58pm
Cecile:

One Direction. lololol
  4:58pm
Mike East:

cases are for schlepping.
  4:58pm
Cheri Pi:

Yeah-I'm gonna get a wall mount :)
  4:58pm
Lucas:

*break
  5:00pm
Braveness23:

I think my house cleaner resents all of my guitars. Admittedly they must be a pain in her ass.
  5:03pm
Braveness23:

oh, likie the Anton Batagov
  5:18pm
Stanley:

I admire all the fmu djs ability to work round all the *rude* and *offensive* words that pop up now and again as band names and song titles. Quite a skill that they don't f**k up now and again. No such worries for us in the UK where any language goes.
  5:19pm
Mike East:

@Stanley - you mean you can even say "bloody" on the radio there?
  5:20pm
Matt from Springfield:

There will probably be a bowling alley "300" balloon dropping down, with the "3" slashed out and a "5" written in!

I definitely thought that seems very up the alley of Gilberto Gil and Os Mutantes. Definitely going to have to check that group out.

Lucas:

In France, last year one guy said "I F*&%$k the presindent"
  5:31pm
Lucas:

on radio
  5:34pm
Mike East:

@Coffee Cola - just a gag. I think of Os Mutantes as more a 60's band and the fact that the group sounded a bit heavier than the Mutants, combined with Matt classifying it as 70's rock, made me come up with a dumb joke - and since its very slow at work, I had to pOSt it. I'll go back to pretending to read emails.
  5:35pm
Coffee Cola:

Gotcha. It's one of those days here as well...
