Curious about the process...asked last week but I don't think you got to it. Steinski spent 20 hours assembling according to an edit list/plan, or was he findin' and feelin' and reworkin' it as he went? Was it precise or freestyle...or little of both?

I'd guess he had a palette of audio and created from there.

Apologies for missing your query last week. Steinski selected music first, then then wove in spoken word recordings and sound effects and stuff. The segues between each different audio source got messaged, edited, tweaked and screwed with dozens of different ways. Then Steinski record his voiceovers and edited them into the whole mix. He invented the amazing feature of playing a snipped of each track as he back announces so you can remember which track was which. Brilliant!
Yes, dear God, secure your shot glasses people. I shouldn't have to tell you!

Hi ya Doug and listeners. Finally got home in time to catch a sizeable chuck of the Friday Steinski. I switch on the stream and get comfortable. But I'm not really digging the mix....until I realise I'm listening to Bryce's show on the other channel whist checking out the GTDR playlist. What a dope!
Also an excellent point, Stanley. I worked with Steinski for a few years in his studio and the man had an almost physical love affair with his record collection.

NGH: A Horniest Hulling or A Hellions Hurting, your anagrammatic choice. :)
There is, Stanley, just not next week. I have to bug outta town early and can't host it next Friday. You can always go to Steinski's playlist page and dig old shows that have been ardchived:
